Travel Note
BOOK TICKETS IN ADVANCE! Block Island is only accessible via ferry. Fortunately, ferries depart from locations such as Narragansett (RI), New London (CT) and Montauk (NY). All ferry ports have parking available, some of which can require cash. Information on the standard and high-speed Block Island Ferry (out of Narragansett, RI) can be found using the link below.
Travel Note
While you can technically bring your car on the ferry if you plan far enough ahead (update: you chance to secure a vehicle reservation has likely passed, but you can call 866.783.7996 ext. 3 to check), we've found walking, renting bikes/mopeds or calling a taxi is even easier. After all, all scheduled weekend events are likely to be no more than 0.5 miles from one another. A line of taxis can always be found waiting for you right after you disembark the ferry, and additional information on bike/moped rentals and taxi options can be found below (note: taxis are typically cash only). The mopeds are the most fun form of travel in our opinion!
Hotel
The National Hotel is steps away from the ferry and a mere 0.5 miles from the Spring House Hotel! While all unreserved rooms in our block were released to the public on March 25, you can still choose to take advantage of the hotel's downtown proximity and book at the National. Please note: all Block Island hotels require a two-night minimum stay during the summer months.
Hotel
While staying at the hotel that's home to our ceremony and reception has its perks, we'll warn you that this option tends to be the pricier of the two hotel blocks. If you are interested in booking here, please call the Spring House (401-466-5844) or email info@springhousehotel.com. And although all unreserved rooms in our block were released to the public on March 25, you can still book at the Spring House pending availability. Please note: all Block Island hotels require a two-night minimum stay during the summer months.
Hotel
Although we have room blocks at The National Hotel and the Spring House Hotel, we encourage you to explore the island's other accommodations. There are a variety of smaller inns and B&Bs scattered throughout the island that may suit your party better. Rest assured, the island is small so you'll never be too far away from the action. Specifically, we've discovered that the hotels/inns that make up the Block Island Reservations group (Harborside Inn, New Shoreham House, Seacrest Inn, Water Street Inn) are some of the most reasonably priced - albeit no frills - accommodations on the island. You can search availability by clicking the link below (tip: sort by price). Other options the 1661 Inn, the Darius Inn, the Atlantic Inn, Hotel Manisses, the Barrington Inn, etc.
House Or Rental
For those looking to make this weekend getaway a full-blown vacation, know that most house rentals on Block Island typically span an entire week (not many, if any, rent for just the weekend) - most are Saturday to Saturday, but some start and end on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays from what we've heard (preferred, as our big day falls on a Saturday). A link to local rental companies can be found below.
