Block Island is accessible by ferry. The main ferry departs out of Pt. Judith in Narragansett (RI), but there are also ferries from New London (CT), Newport (RI) and Montauk (NY).
The first thing to know is that all hotels on Block Island have a two-night minimum stay requirement during the summer months. While we have room blocks at The National Hotel and the Spring House Hotel, we encourage you to explore the many hotel, inn and BnB options on the island that may work better for your party for Friday and Saturday night. All-in-all, hotels are likely your best option unless you're hoping to extend your weekend into a longer getaway, as many of the home rentals on the island require a week-long stay during the summer months. More details regarding accommodations can be found on the Travel tab.
While you can technically bring your car on the ferry if you plan far enough ahead, we've found walking, renting bikes/mopeds or calling a taxi is even easier. After all, Block Island is only 7 miles long/3 miles wide and all scheduled weekend events are likely to be no more than 0.5 miles from one another. A line of taxis can always be found right as you get off the ferry. Please note that if you do decide to bring a car on the ferry, reservations should be made a few months in advance. In our opinion, mopeds are the most fun form of transportation!
Upon arriving to the island on Friday, we invite you to join us at Ballard's Beach Resort for a beach bonfire - drinks and apps will be provided. And then on Saturday, the Spring House Hotel is where the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all take place. For those with steam left, join us down the street at The Yellow Kittens for an after party. Visit the Schedule tab for specifics on the weekend events and the Things To Do tab for ideas on how to make the most of your free time on the island!
For Friday's beach bonfire, wear whatever's most comfortable and plays well with sand! For Saturday's ceremony and reception, cocktail attire is requested.
To ensure everyone has a fun and safe time, we request that all non-vaccinated guests get tested a day or two before arriving to the island. And of course, for those more comfortable wearing a mask - rock it! Thank you in advance for honoring our wishes - Molly’s 94 year old grandpa thanks you, too!
Although we adore your children, due to space constraints we ask that only adults attend. Parents night out! If you'd like to bring your kids to the island, a babysitter could be arranged by visiting http://www.blockislandbabysitters.com/
While the welcome drinks at Ballard's and the reception will be open bar, we suggest bringing cash with you, as most of the bars and cabs on the island only accept cash!
