The very first time Lisa and Chris met was in February 2013, two weeks after Lisa moved to St. Thomas for a travel nursing assignment. Lisa's sister and brother-in-law were visiting, and the three of them went to the Caribbean Fish Market, a beautiful fine dining oceanfront restaurant on the island. Chris happened to be their server that night, catching Lisa's eye from first sight. It took six months for Lisa and Chris to have contact again, when Lisa finally had the guts to approach Chris, and after that, it was a done deal.
Lisa and Chris went on an amazing vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii in January to celebrate Lisa's parents' 40th wedding anniversary. The week was going what Lisa thought to be as perfect as possible, and then Chris proposed and blew everyone's expectations of the trip out of the water! He dropped down onto one knee on the beach at sunset, completely catching Lisa off guard. Lisa's dad, in on the surprise, was hidden behind a palm tree, capturing the precious moment.
A less-than-four-hour drive from Los Angeles, Lisa and Chris first came to the Valle de Guadalupe in November 2015 for Lisa's birthday. They stayed at Hacienda Guadalupe and fell in love with the hotel, vineyard, and the entire region. Since then, the couple has been coming back to the region each year, loving its rustic charm more and more. After they got engaged, with Chris's passion for wine and Lisa's love of the Latino culture, they knew this was the spot to celebrate their special day.
