Travel Note

Wedding Status & Update (January 4, 2021)

While we have changed our date to July 30, 2021, there is still a great deal of uncertainty about what exactly will be accessible. We will update this section as we get closer to the date with fun things to do and see in our area! In the meantime, we are including travel and accommodation information here for anyone who is ready to make those plans! NOTE: We've held blocks in 4 hotels for the nights immediately surrounding the wedding. However, if you make your reservation earlier, you should have no trouble extending your stay on either side if you wish to do so. (That said, the rate may differ on the other nights.)

Flight

Baltimore-Washington International Airport

This is absolutely the closest airport to all our major locations: Baltimore, Annapolis, and Bowie. The only potential downside (especially for our travelling Omahomies) is that it often requires layovers from midwest locations.

Reagan International Airport - DCA

This is the closest to all the touristy goodness of Washington, D.C. and offers more direct flights to locations midwest. We will say, however, that the bar/food options here are...wanting.

Dulles International Airport - IAD

This is the furthest airport from...ABSOLUTELY everything, but we wanted to include it in case it popped up as an option. If you can get a great deal on a flight here, it might be worth it, but it's the longest drive by far, and around the north half of 495, which...trends nightmarish on most days. (Please don't fly here. Erin has had terrible experiences corralling jetlagged students arriving from Germany and trying to get them around the asphalt labyrinth of the beltway.)

This is a Bowie hotel, about a 40-minute drive (without traffic) to the venue, and 15-20 minutes to locations in Annapolis. We have a block of rooms here under Lorenz-Hanson Wedding Guests. Mention that when you call to make sure you get a room! The hotel will hold the rooms in the block until June 29. Block room dates: 7/29-8/1

This is a Bowie hotel, about a 40-minute drive from the venue (without traffic), and 15-20 minutes to locations in Annapolis. The block is under Lorenz/Hanson Wedding Event, and the link is available for easy booking. Block dates: 7/29-7/31

This is an Annapolis hotel! It is about a 30-minute drive to the venue (without traffic). Mention the Lorenz & Hanson Wedding to access the block! Block dates: 7/29-7/31
