Both the wedding ceremony and reception will now be held at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore! We are keeping the same (new) date: Friday, July 30, 2021, so hopefully this will not require major changes to your planning. Please see the Travel section for more information on nearby hotels and airports. This quirky museum features pieces by a wide variety of artists from all backgrounds and experiences. More information can be found here: https://www.avam.org/ While this is certainly not how we originally envisioned our day, we are thrilled that AVAM can safely accommodate all of our friends and family. For those of you who have never visited Baltimore, we hope you will enjoy this introduction to the city. COVID Notes: Please note that as of right now, both the state of Maryland and the city of Baltimore are still under a mask mandate for all indoor events. While we hope this will change by July, we are also realistic, and ask that you plan to wear a mask any time we are inside and not eating. As a reminder, we also respectfully request that all adults who plan to attend ensure that they are fully vaccinated - which means that your second shot (or only, if receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine) is at least two weeks prior to the event. Our goal is to protect any and all vendors, as well as the children who will be attending. And speaking of children... We love your kids! Unfortunately, due to budget and space constraints, we can only accommodate our nieces, nephews, daughter, and other children 3 and under. We strongly encourage our local guests with young children to take advantage of a babysitter and enjoy a "night off" in order to make space for out-of-town family members who cannot travel without their little ones.
...among a contingent of mutual 2nd Star Productions friends. We imagine burnt offerings sacrificed at a shrine to Stephens Schwartz and Sondheim on the eve of every opening night. Anyway, for two very awkward people...this required years of patience. Of course, Jeremy was pleased when Erin showed up at his birthday party . Erin was thrilled when Jeremy came along with our group to see the production of West Side Story that she had co-directed. Erin mulled over all of these things repeatedly to her roommate Claire until one day, Claire had had enough: “You keep saying you think he’d be cool to date. Send him a facebook message before I come back downstairs or I’m doing it for you!” Claire would follow through on such a threat, so Erin sent the message. We met for coffee, and talked for three hours. Claire rejoiced - as did 2nd Star when they found out about it. Erin did try to kill our early momentum by embarking on a four-week cross-country road trip only six weeks after our first date. Fortunately, Jeremy had solicited Google Hangouts as a corporate sponsor and we were able to video-chat most nights she was gone. When Erin returned on a hot July afternoon, Jeremy wasted no time arriving with flowers, a bottle of wine, and our first “I love you” - which both of us had been holding in, but neither had wanted to say until we were face to face. By fall, we knew where we were headed. We joined each other’s families for the holidays, and Jeremy hatched a plot. Having bestowed the role of Trusty Sidekick to Laura Hackett, Jeremy was smuggled backstage at a performance of The Little Mermaid just as the kids took their final bow. When Laura called Erin down to the stage, Jeremy entered to the cheers of many, many mermaids and landfolk, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said yes; the crowd went wild. The cast and orchestra performed the Finale once more, and the curtain closed on newly-engaged bliss - and about fifty very excited teenagers.
