The Story of Us

First came...study hall?

We all know how life has a way of throwing us curve balls when we least expect it. Our story is no different! We first met at Carroll High School when Andrey was a junior and Miranda was a freshman. Andrey claims to know much more about their first meeting than Miranda though; even down to the seat where she sat in study hall! We were mainly just acquaintances during our high school days, with a little crushing from both parties here and there :) Fast forward about a decade and a half (wow, it was really THAT long!) and, thanks to Facebook, we were able to reconnect over Florabama, Orange Beach and then ultimately, a Fitbit. And the rest is history! While our road hasn’t always been the smoothest, there truly is no one else we’d rather go over those bumps and potholes with than each other. Andrey’s strengths are Miranda’s weaknesses and Miranda’s strengths are Andrey’s weaknesses, truly complimenting and supporting one another. While distance seems to be the normality in our relationship, we have been fortunate to begin settling down in Lexington, KY for the first leg of this incredible and exciting journey! We are so ready to start our lives together and catch up on all the time we missed and can't wait to share this life with those closest to us!!

The Fitbit Love Connection?

January 17, 2017

Often times when we tell people we've known each other since high school, they assume we're high school sweethearts. Nope. So how were we able to reconnect after 20 very loooong years? On January 17, 2017 Miranda went to visit her friend Courtney's daughter, Ella, in the hospital, At the time, Miranda was obsessed with the deer filter on Snapchat and when she arrived at the hospital, sweet Ella happened to have a deer on her shirt. Photo op of course :) Naturally, they take a selfie using the deer filter and post it to Facebook. And this picture is where OUR story begins. The next day, Andrey sent Miranda a message, out of the blue, that they had matching fitbits. Come to find out, Miranda's teal fitbit was noticeable in the selfie. And we have been together ever since :) Thank God for Target's Black Friday sale on teal Fitbits!

Our First Date

January 27, 2017

You may have noticed that 10 days passed from the time we began talking until our very first date! Many of you are aware that for much of our relationship Andrey was living in Springboro, OH and Miranda in Lexington, KY. This was the first opportunity we had to finally meet up after almost 20 years! And we'd both agree that it was well worth the wait :) Andrey threw it back old school and picked Miranda up at her dad's house in Beavercreek with a bouquet of flowers and a giant smile, and one more surprise...a 10 pack of assorted stamp pads!? I know what you're thinking; really??! Slight back story: earlier in the week Miranda had been complaining about how her students were ruining all of her stamp pads because they'd just use the same stamp in all the different pads and mess them all up (if you know Miranda, you know how annoying this is to her haha). So a pack of stamp pads was such a sweet gift on our first date, and pretty much sealed the deal. I mean, he listens SO well!! Fast forward to present day and while Andrey has moved to Lexington, he still travels for work and we're still rockin that long distance thing. And while he does bring back gifts from each trip, that 10 pack of assorted stamp pads will always be one of Miranda's favorites.

The Proposal

December 28, 2018

Andrey proposed to Miranda right after Christmas on the rocks in Orange Beach, Alabama. Miranda frequently vacations at her dad's condo in Orange Beach and loves her time spent walking to the rocks at the end of the beach. Of course, this had to be the place where Andrey asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. And while the weather wasn't incredibly cooperative, it was the most perfect day. Andrey thought of everything from how to get Miranda down to the rocks in the pouring rain to arranging to have her friend come in from Atlanta to photograph the whole thing. He did good, real good.

The Wedding Day

November 23, 2019

We have selected the most perfect venue to celebrate our love with those closest to us and we cannot wait for November to get here. If you have never been to The Reverie, prepare to have your minds blown. This place literally fell into our laps by pure luck. When we went to look at it for the first time, we met Sol Gomez on a rainy Friday night a week after we'd gotten engaged. Every square foot of it was under construction, much of it to the point where we were looking solely at blueprints to grasp the end goal. We went to Fricker's afterwards (cuz chicken chunks, duh) and were both in love with this space. Even though the only thing we really saw semi-done was the bridal suite, we took a leap of faith and contacted Sol to schedule a time to sign the contract. As the months went by and deadlines were extended, we remained calm (well semi-calm) because we knew when it was finally finished, it was going to be the MOST PERFECT place for us to profess our love to each other in front of God, our family, and friends. We hope you all will agree when you come celebrate with us at the, finally finished, Reverie in Miamisburg, OH
