Define "Meeting."

Let Miracle tell it, She and Derrick met during their freshmen year (2008) at Morgan State University. Though Derrick does not agree that verbalizing 3 personal "fun facts" to a class of peers defines "meeting"... They can both agree that Morgan State University planted the seed for their future connection that would later bloom into a divine union. Nine years after the two shared an English class at MSU; Miracle and Derrick reconnected through Facebook. Derrick’s early commutes to DC and Miracle’s 6:00 AM workouts would turn into the two exchanging memes, comments, and likes.

The 14 Hour First Date...

After initially asking to join Miracle for a movie in August, Derrick presented multiple “outings” (his words, not hers) prior to their “real” first date in November 2017. The date was at Mo’s Seafood. It started with a paint class and ended after the two talked for 14 hours about any and everything under the Sun. According to Derrick this was "a BIG deal!" Derrick describes himself as a man of few words and fewer urges to engage in small talk (let alone a 14 hour conversation). It was at this moment Derrick had confirmation in his plans to solidify his role in Miracle's life. In one word, Miracle described the connection between she and Derrick leading up to the infamous 14 hour first date as “destiny.” Miracle The day after attending a popular Christmas event in DC with a few friends Derrick officially asked Miracle to be his girlfriend on December 17th 2017.

December 2017 - December 2020

The Proposal

After accepting Derrick's proposal to transition their relationship, Miracle describes their connection nothing short of “destiny!” On Christmas morning (2020), Derrick set up a scavenger hunt of gifts around their home ending with a blanket covered in pictures of their experiences during courtship. After their gift exchange, there was one more gift that needed to be shared. “Although she said she would say ‘yes’ I was definitely nervous.” Derrick got down on one knee and presented the ring... MIRACLE SAID YAASSSSS!!!!!
