Hi! There are no requirements except please be kind to everyone! Ideally, we'd love to make a weekend out of this whole wedding thing and include everyone... That being said, we know many folks are traveling a distance to join us (THANK YOU!!!) and we wanted to create as much of a festive autumnal weekend trip in the mountains as possible. If you can only make one day, we suggest Saturday. That's the big party and dancing and socializing and opportunity to enjoy a day on the farm. However, if for some reason you can only join us for the ceremony on Friday or the boat ride Sunday, we'll be super happy to see you as long as you're around! Please DO LET US KNOW which events you plan to join or not so we can get a decent head count. BOAT RIDE will require reservations (please see event for details). Everything else is slightly more casual since you won't be swimming to catch up if the party has already started.
Yes! We are hoping/planning to video and photograph our vows so that we can share the small ceremony with those attending on Saturday and we can all feel all mushy and sentimental together!
You betcha! We will have a tent with walls, a partially enclosed barn with heater and lights, a dance floor, bathroom truck with a flushing toilet and running warm water, some smaller tents and comfort spaces set up out of the direct elements. Please check the weather before you travel. At this time of year in the ADKs we can have stunning high pressure systems with temps close to 70s and clear skies or snow and rain and chilly 40s temps. Hopefully, we'll get the former but the show must go on, and on it shall! Outfits that will be good for a day with weather that could see temperatures from the 40s to the 70s with SOLID SHOES that you can hopefully dance in or kick off to the side with the rest of us hippies. Bring a little bag with layers or a change of shoes, warm hat and gloves and jacket for the crisp evenings and whatever else you might want with you. (Think nice cozy outdoor festival with a bunch more comfort)
Yes, mostly. Please let us know if you need something in particular. While this is a rustic farm wedding weekend, we are doing our best to consider everyone's comforts. We have bathrooms with flushing toilets that will require a few steps up. In addition, we will have an ADA accessible porta-john that has room for a chair to maneuver and has no steps up or in. (More information about the boat's accessibility to come) The farm ground is uneven in places and everyone should take care to watch your steps as you traverse. If you occasionally use an assistive device for mobility you might consider having it along with you if you are concerned. A couple of trekking poles can be on hand for those traveling longer distance. The heart of our events take place in the daylight to maximize safety (and because Mira likes to go to sleep at a reasonable time!).
Yes as best as possible! We will have a few spaces (partially indoors) set up as lounge areas where you can be away from the music, have a comfy seat on a couch, chat or sit quietly and stretch your legs. Also, there's 100 acres of woods to "step away for a moment" in so as long as you are cautious, safety-minded and competent in your surroundings, you may easily wander to seek quiet under any number of magnificent trees or stroll our trails or dead-end road for a little exercise.
