12:30 pm - 1:15 pm
Please wear clothing that you feel beautiful, comfortable and celebratory in. Shoes should be safe enough for walking on some uneven ground. Weather is variable at this time of year so layers are a good idea.
All events are partially outdoors so please think about your outfit choices for maximum safety and enjoyment. The Bride and Groom will gussy up (we like to do that!) but it is not required that guests follow a theme or dress in a particular way. A festive, beautiful, rustic wedding is our goal. Bring a little extra clothing or a change if you please and save a trip back to your hotel. That way you can continue to enjoy some casual afternoon hanging out with us and we can all get to know each other better since so many folks will be meeting for the first time. Our wedding ceremony will not be religious as we're a solid pair of atheistic-leaning agnostics but meaningful elements from Jewish rituals will be woven into the ceremony and weekend as a nod to Mira's heritage and cultural customs. We'll do our best to explain the meaning of any customs as we go.
1:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Hang out in what you're wearing or add or subtract a coat! Change in the bathrooms if you'd like and kick back or get some rest at the hotel and stop in for a beverage at your leisure.
This will be a very casual BBQ, fire pit, lawn games and 'get-to-know-you' after our modest ceremony on Friday. Bring your instruments...we might make impromptu music! salads, Bread, veggies, pastas, etc. in a casual outdoor environment. BYOB or drink whatever we have on hand. Since so many of our guests have not yet met, Mira hasn't yet met all of Andy's people and Andy hasn't yet met all of Mira's people, this is a low-key, informal way for us to celebrate our connection and connect with all of you! (And to practice for the dance floor!!!). This IS NOT the BIG Saturday reception and dance party though so pace yourselves! If you want to head to rest in your hotel so you have party energy the next day, that's fine too! Mira and Andy will join you right after they take a moment to relish the beauty of the land on a private walk to our bluff. Don't wait for us! Start celebrating!
9:00 am - 10:00 am
Dress for warmth, bug protection and not fashion...unless you are an overachiever, in which case, huzzah! Bring binoculars, field guides, questions, childlike curiosity and open eyes and ears (and coffee/tea!).
Mira is an amateur naturalist and agriculturally-inclined person who loves to share and educate and learn. Come take a quick walk on the property to look for migratory birds, year-round avian friends, all manner of arthropods, and whatever flora and fauna we come across. We can gain elevation if folks would like or walk on flat ground. Rain will likely cancel.
1:00 pm - 8:30 pm
This is the big party! Dress your best for fun, comfort, casual eating, dancing and safety. See earlier notes on weather variability but be prepared to dance in a heated tent and then enjoy the brisk outdoors. There is no particular dress code but please feel celebratory in your choice of garb.
Mostly finger foods or small plates. Snacks, desserts, extra snacks, wine, beer, spirits. Plan to dance to an eclectic variety of music, eat delicious food, laugh and smile and maybe toast the Bride and Groom or put them on chairs (L'Chaim!).
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Dress for wind, sun and cold protection! It might be beautiful out and high temps but could get a little cold on the water. Solid stable shoes are a great idea as well.
This is a self-pay, self-reserve, optional closing event to add to the seasonal festivities and wedding celebrations. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE DIRECTLY WITH THE COMPANY!!! https://www.raquettelakenavigation.com/special-events/ Please DO ALSO use our RSVP button for the event just to give us a sense of how many attendees are coming and to help us organize some car pools and bubbles!
