We met during our first week of orientation at business school--we were in the same section (Big Dogs!), which meant we automatically had to be friends. Over two years, we got to know each other over the typical Kellogg academic activities: dance competitions, karaoke nights, ski trips, and costume parties...but never dated. Fast forward to 2017, when Mina moved back to NYC after spending two years in Texas post-graduation. We caught up a few times as friends--but everything changed on November 11, 2017. It was the night of a big OU football game, and since Mina had cut cable when she moved, she needed to force someone to go to the OU bar to watch it with her. It was like the Saturday Night Lights/stars aligned: None of Mina's go-to football watching friends were in town & it was a rare night when Andrew wasn't sleeping at Bank of America Tower. She texted and he said yes. OU won that night...and Andrew got the nerve to break out of the friend zone. (He succeeded).

Mina has never come across a historical plaque she hasn't read...including the one Andrew placed on the fountain at Lincoln Center that said: "On this place Andrew Maynes proposed to Mina Azodi, and she said yes!" Confident, eh?
