Gusaba [Traditional Ceremony]

African-inspired clothing warmly encouraged! Our colours are green, rust, orange and earthy tones, embrace them! Think Ankara or kitenge fabric in these shades. Ladies: dresses or elegant skirts and jumpsuits. Gentlemen: African print shirts or suits.

We are so excited to celebrate with you! A heads up: food will not be served until around 7:00–8:00 PM, so please have a good lunch before you arrive. Drinks will be flowing from the start, we just want to make sure you are well-fuelled for an afternoon of celebration and dancing! Jalia Garden is in Rusororo, a little outside central Kigali, allow extra travel time and arrange your taxi in advance. Your hotel can help or use our taxi hailing apps Move by VW or Yego Cab Rwanda (you can download these on the app store).

This is a chance for us to spend time with all our friends and family who travelled far and wide to celebrate the traditional ceremony with us

Cocktail attire. Ladies: cocktail dresses, midi or knee-length dresses, or elegant jumpsuits. Gentlemen: suits with or without a tie. Smart and celebratory, you'll be on the shores of Lake Victoria so bear the evening breeze in mind!
