Things To Do in Denver When You Wed

The Wedding Website of Mimi Pucak and Matt Pucak
Make a week or full weekend out of this and have some fun in the Mile High City or the rest of Colorful Colorado, please! Here are some suggestions. NOTE: This page title is a play on the Andy Garcia movie "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead" which Matt thinks is funny and Mimi has never heard of it, which makes sense because it came out when she was 7. Explaining a joke is often the most effective way to make a joke.
Washington Park

Washington Park

Denver, CO

Denver's answer to Central Park and really a fantastic place to hang out any time. Gets real busy on weekends and some afternoons, as thousands of volleyball players takeover the field, but still plenty of awesome things to see.

Coors Field

Coors Field

2001 Blake Street, Denver, CO 80205
, (303) 292-0200

Enjoy Denver’s best outdoor bar where people sometimes watch baseball. Prepare for all of the home runs #COORS Tickets start at $4 for the Rockpile but I'd recommend stepping up for $12 Porch tickets, which are for the standing room only area and come with a $6 in food/beer voucher loaded on the ticket. You can also probably snag lower level or club level seats for about $25.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

18300 West Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465
, (720) 865-2494

Arguably the most beautiful and unique concert venue in the country. Even worth checking out if there isn't a show going on.

RiNo Art District

RiNo Art District

3525 Walnut Street, Denver, CO 80205

The RiNo Arts District is full of great food, breweries, shops, and especially well-known for their street art murals found throughout the district on sides of buildings and hidden in alleyways. There are 2-hour walking tours of the neighborhood through "Denver Graffiti Tour" -- denvergraffititour.com

Avanti Food and Beverage

Avanti Food and Beverage

3200 North Pecos Street, Denver, CO 80211
, (720) 269-4778

A large food hall with great food, drinks, and a great view of the Denver's skyline. The arepas are to die for. If it's too busy or too much of a scene (and it can be), there are several other food halls spread around town that you can check out, close to wherever you stay and easily within Lyft range. Denver Milk Market (downtown), Denver Central Market (RiNo), Edgewater Public Market (North Denver), Broadway Market (Baker), Zeppelin Station (RiNo) and Stanley Marketplace (Central Park).

Breweries and other Social Lubricators

Breweries and other Social Lubricators

There are like 1,000 breweries in this city and also weed is legal. We have plenty of beer recommendations for you, no matter what style you like (we really like Our Mutual Friend, Zuni Street Brewing, Black Shirt Brewing, Comrade, Goldspot...we could go on for a while). For the other, we really don’t, but there’s a dispensary on every corner that will be willing to help get you a Mile High (get it?). But please be safe and understand that no one wants to see you freaking out.

TACOS - Tacos Tequila Whiskey and more

TACOS - Tacos Tequila Whiskey and more

3300 West 32nd Avenue, Denver, CO 80211
, (720) 502-4608

There will be tacos at the reception, but can you really have too many tacos? No, the answer is no. Also known as Pinche Tacos (F*ckin' Tacos), this place makes fantastic fancy street tacos and serves killer drinks. There are three locations as well. Always pretty busy but you can't go wrong. Los Chingones and El Chingon are also good options for "fancier" tacos. If you'd like something muy autentico, you can check out Los Carboncitos in the Highlands, Mexico City downtown, or head to almost any location adjacent to Federal Blvd (La Calle Taqueria y Carnitas is our fav).

Uchi Denver

Uchi Denver

2500 Lawrence Street, Denver, CO 80205
, (303) 444-1922

This place is really, really good if you like fresh and delicious sushi. It is also not cheap, FYI.

Quiero Arepas

Quiero Arepas

1859 South Pearl Street, Denver, CO 80210
, (720) 432-4205

This is the brick and mortar location for the arepas that are also available at Avanti. They really are one of the best meals in Denver, a big old handful of delicious. More of a fast casual meal, you should definitely get one while you are in town. Or two or three.

Breakfast - Hit Snooze an A.M. Eatery and more

Breakfast - Hit Snooze an A.M. Eatery and more

2262 Larimer Street, Denver, CO 80205
, (303) 297-0700

Everyone loves some breaky! Snooze is a classic breakfast place and there are like 4 options spread around town. Be aware that you will wait if you don't get there first thing, but it's worth it. Other good classic breakfast spots are Luciele's, Syrup, and if you want mimosa towers, the Lobby.

Breakfast Burriots - Santiago's Mexican Restaurant

Breakfast Burriots - Santiago's Mexican Restaurant

2505 Federal Boulevard, Denver, CO 80211
, (720) 855-8109

No Denver trip is complete without a breakfast burrito and Santiagos is the classic. They have a lot of locations and are available at even more gas stations/super markets. I'd recommend getting them fresh and getting the "1/2 and 1/2" and the green chile. So good! Breakfast burritos can be eaten at any meal, and are even an excellent option from street vendors while leaving bars at 2 a.m.

Hiking - Chautauqua Park

Hiking - Chautauqua Park

Boulder, CO 80302
, (303) 442-3282

Boulder is beautiful if you can get over the eyesore that is the "school" that resides there. But seriously, it's tough to beat a good hike along the Flatirons. Just a 30-45 minute drive from Denver. The link also has a ton of options close by Denver, or you can get real feisty and head for a few hours North, West or South (just don't go east) and you'll find some big old mountains to climb. We'd recommend hiking/walking around the following spots, from easy to hard: Washington Park, Cherry Creek State Park, Red Rocks, Castle Rock or a 14er. If you want to be a hero, the Manitou Incline down in Colorado Springs (nearly 2,000 feet of elevation gain in less than 3/4 of a mile) is a true bucket list item. See if you can beat Matt's record of 35 minutes, or the world record of 17:45). Really, just try to finish in under an hour and be very careful with to drink a ton of water and go easy. Elevation is no joke.
