If you would’ve asked Deja back in sophomore year of high school, she would’ve told you she had no idea she and Nicholas “Nick” had sat at opposite ends of the same lunch table all year long. But Nick definitely noticed her, and during their junior year, with the help of a mutual friend, he had Deja brought over to the softball field at Bishop McNamara High School so they could finally meet. What started as a high school connection quickly turned into something much bigger. Nick and Deja officially started dating on October 12, 2017, and over the years, they’ve grown up side by side — evolving individually and together through every stage of life. From sports and adventurous activities to traveling and making memories wherever they go, the two quickly became best friends who genuinely enjoy doing life together. Through every season, they’ve continued to support each other, laugh with each other, and build a relationship grounded in Christ, friendship, love, and fun. On May 31, 2025, Nick planned what Deja thought was simply a graduation dinner at the National Harbor. Instead, the night turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of their lives when Nick got down on one knee and asked Deja to marry him. Now, after a decade together, they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people they love most.
