Things To Do

Northwestern New Jersey is unlike any other region in the state. From mountainous beauty to farm landscapes, if you'll be spending some time in Sussex County before or after our wedding, here are some unique spots to check out!
Sussex County Farmers Market

Sussex County Farmers Market

37 Plains Road, Augusta, NJ 07822

Located at the main entrance to the Fairgrounds (the location of the Conservatory), this indoor Farmers Market has locally grown fresh, seasonal fruits, vegetables, dairy products, eggs, meat, fiber and wine. It's open on Saturdays from 9am-1pm.

High Point State Park

High Point State Park

1480 New Jersey 23, Sussex, NJ 07461
, (973) 875-4800

Hike the Appalachian Trail to the highest elevation in the state, climb an obelisk dedicated to NJ's veterans, and enjoy vast views of NJ, PA, and NY (all from one vantage point!). Or check out the "Stairway to Heaven" hike that's also part of the Appalachian Trail. You'll traverse a boardwalk, a suspension bridge, and a cow pasture to climb to what we think is one of the best views in the state.

Fran's Farmhouse Kitchen

Fran's Farmhouse Kitchen

12 Morris Avenue, Branchville, NJ 07826
, (973) 948-9950

If you're looking for some local farm foods, fresh baked breads, and the best chocolate crumb cake and double chocolate chip cookies around, Fran's Farmhouse Kitchen is a quick drive from our venue and the Holiday Inn. Trust us, you'll want to stop in before heading home!

Sterling Hill Mining Museum

Sterling Hill Mining Museum

30 Plant Street, Ogdensburg, NJ 07439
, (973) 209-7212

The Sterling Hill Mine, now known as the Sterling Hill Mine Tour & Museum of Fluorescence, is a former iron and zinc mine in Ogdensburg, Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. It was the last working underground mine in New Jersey when it closed in 1986, and it became a museum in 1989. Along with the nearby Franklin Mine, it is known for its variety of minerals, especially the fluorescent varieties.
