We recognize this is a big trip for many of our guests and we're so grateful you're considering joining us.
Short answer: you will only be booking your own hotel room for the night of the 20th, if you're able to join us for the Welcome Party and would like to stay at the Taj that night. Long answer: We're delighted to host you in Goa for our wedding and will be covering and booking your stay at the Taj Cidade de Goa Heritage across the main event days on December 21 & 22. However, celebrations start on Friday Dec 20th evening and we'd love to see you at our Welcome Party that evening. For those can join us on the 20th, we have blocked off rooms at the Cidade itself, that are priced at a special rate, which will be available to book immediately. Please RSVP first and then book directly with the hotel only for the 20th (we will coordinate your arrangements on the 21st and 22). To do so, you will email Ms Desiree Cardoso at desiree.cardoso@tajhotels.com. Of course, you are welcome to book a stay elsewhere that night.
No, you will not be able to choose rooms. We have a large block of standard rooms reserved for our hotel guests and closer to the time of the event, we will be assigning rooms based on your party size and our numbers. We will reach out closer to the event date with more updates.
No, you joining us at our wedding is the biggest gift of all! Corny statements aside, our (small) Brooklyn apartment is all set up and we don’t need anything else for it. So please don’t bring presents to India for us! For our more traditional guests, if you really want to give us something, you can contribute to a travel fund. But seriously, we are so excited that you’re making a big trip for us, so please don’t give us anything more.
Overall, we'd like you to wear what makes you feel most comfortable and festive! However, we have added attire suggestions on the event page to guide you. Goa is a beach destination which means it will be warm during the day and could be breezy in the evening, so we recommend lighter fabrics for the warm weather. Elements of our celebration will include Indian traditions so please feel free to wear Indian, Indian-inspired or colorful, festive wear. If you’re not an Indian citizen (or PIO/OCI type), you’ll probably need a visa to enter India. Don’t wait until the last day to apply! Very stressful. But otherwise, it’s actually pretty straightforward and fast and most people can apply for an e-visa. More info on the Stay + Travel page. Please also check your passport validity now! Your passport will need to be valid for at least 6 months from the date you plan to enter India.
