A beautiful and iconic spot in Montreal. Whether you're looking to take a stroll in a green space, or for a breathtaking view of the city, Mount Royal is a must see spot. The address listed is one of the better spots to park.
With the old-city charm and cobble-stone streets, the Old Port is a great place to walk around if you want to feel like you've escaped to Europe. It's littered with amazing restaurants, bars, museums, and activities. Check out the ferris wheel, climb the pirate ship, explore the science museum, or grab a savoury crepe at one of our favourite restaurants, Jardin Nelson.
This is the go-to place if you're looking to experience the magic that is poutine - fries, gravy and cheese curds. It's open 24/7 (because it's poutine!) and is great as a meal on its own, any time of the day (or night!). The classic is an easy winner, but if you're feeling adventurous, go for one of the many variation options.
Ask anyone from Montreal about bagels, and they will likely rant to you about how other places just have doughnut-shaped bread. Bagels are practically a religion in Montreal, and if you haven't had one, you're missing out. Fairmount and St-Viateur are two of the most popular locations, and some grocery stores carry them. Try it on its own (not even toasted!), with cream cheese or as a sandwich! Sorry in advance for ruining those bread circles.
If you love board games as much as we do, this is a must-do! This bar has just about any game you can think of, and drinks that come in beakers! "Game Masters" will help you select, set up and start the game, and once you're done, just pack it up and ask for the next one! It's a great way to try new games, or play old favourites with new friends.
Whether you're looking for a place to shop, good food, fun bars or want to feel the hustle and bustle of the city, downtown is a great place to check out. If you're looking for shops, Saint-Catherine street is the place to be. Crescent street is full of great bars, and good food is just about anywhere. Zibo is one of our favorite restaurants, but there are so many to discover!
If you're looking for a fun local market to explore, Atwater is where you want to be! Full of local produce, meats and cheeses, bakeries and overflowing with a variety of deliciously prepared foods, this is an amazing place to spend part of day exploring and indulging. It's also accessible via the bike path if you're feeling extra adventurous.
A smoked meat sandwich is another must-have food in Montreal, and Schwartz's Deli is the best spot in town! They've been smoking meat in their secret spice blend for over 90 years, so you know they've got it down! When they pile it between their fresh bread with a touch of mustard, you'll understand why it's a Montreal staple.
A beautiful space filled with amazing displays of flowers, plants and trees. You can take a quick stroll or spend the better part of a day wandering through this amazing garden. There'll also be an incredible lantern festival going on, so we highly recommend going after dusk.
The Biodome is a great place to check out if you love animals. With different climated zones, you can see everything from otters to monkeys, beavers to penguins, exotic birds to exotic (read ugly) fish. You're sure to have a great time and possibly make some new friends.
Hockey is a religion in Montreal, so if you're into hockey or sports in general, we recommend catching a game of the famous Montreal Canadiens. Whether it's in the high-energy atmosphere of the Bell Centre, or at just about any bar with a TV, you'll find fans of the bleu, blanc et rouge cheering them on.
If you're thinking about sticking around a little longer, we highly recommend a day trip to Tremblant. It's about 90 minutes north of Montreal (a drive which has some spectacular views) and is a great place to visit if you're looking for some outdoor adventures. There are plenty of hiking trails, but if you'd rather stroll through the quaint village, you'll find tons of activities and shops. You can even try a Beaver Tail, which is a delicious Canadian treat - we dare you to try one without googling it!
