Points of Interest

Here are a few of our recommendations on things to do and places to eat while you’re “on the Cape” for the big day! You may encounter some lines at restaurants or other points of interest. A good reminder for anywhere you go during your time at the Cape for our celebrations: it is Labor Day weekend and the season, while wrapping up, is still going. Be patient, relax, and enjoy! If there's something you're interested in that you don't see on here or you're looking for more suggestions, feel free to ask us -- we're full of 'em!

Monomoy Island Excursions

702 MA-28, Harwich Port, MA 02646

One of the coolest things about Cape Cod is the seals. They are all over and I'm sure you've recently heard that they've been attracting the sharks too! Don't worry, this tour will take you on a boat (where the sharks can't go) and you'll get a chance to view the seals. The tour lasts approximately an hour and a half and is a good alternative if you aren't interested in the longer whale watching tour. You will get to see the seals up close and the tours are smaller so you'll always have a great view. Plus, you'll take a little cruise past our wedding venue while you're on the boat.

Dolphin Whale Watch

307 Commercial Street, #1, Provincetown, MA 02657

This whale watching tour is not to be missed if you are looking for a fun activity in Provincetown (or P-town as it is known). The tour is about 3 hours long but well worth the time and the price. Bring a hat and sunscreen as it can get very sunny out there. We took this tour a few years ago and were not disappointed. Pro Tip: Try to go on the second or third trip of the day - this way, you stay out of the mid-day sun, but some of the other trips have had a chance to see the whales already so your boat can go right to where they are!

John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum

397 Main Street, Barnstable, MA 02601
, (508) 790-3077

We went to the JFK Museum during our first trip to the Cape together. It is a great indoor activity to do in case there is a day with less than ideal weather. You could spend anywhere from one hour to three or four hours in this museum. The museum focuses on the life of JFK, as well as the history of the Kennedy family as a whole. If you're a history buff, this is one of the things you don't want to miss! Located in the center of Hyannis, it is conveniently located near many restaurants and shops. Easy for parking the car and walking around. Please make sure you check their website before heading to the museum. The museum runs on seasonal hours so you'll want to make sure they will be open before you make the trip. Ticket prices are also listed on the website.

Moby Dick's Restaurant

3225 Route 6, Wellfleet, MA 02667
, (508) 349-9795

Moby Dick's is one of our all-time favorite places to eat on the Cape and is actually where we ate dinner right after we got engaged! They have the type of fare you'd expect from a Cape Cod restaurant -- fresh, delicious seafood, chowder and all the sides. They also have salads, chicken, and beef. Moby's is excellent at accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions. Moby's is BYOB for beer and wine and they will give you a bucket with ice to keep your drinks in and cups to drink from. The restaurant is very casual. You order and pay at the front and then are seated. Your food is brought to you and their staff is very attentive and helpful. If you see a line outside, don't let that scare you off from Moby's. The line moves pretty quickly and the food is well worth it.

Hole In One Bakery & Coffee Shop

4295 U.S. 6, Eastham, MA 02642
, (508) 255-9446

One of our absolute favorites! Every morning we're at the Cape begins with donuts and muffins from Hole in One. Hole in One has some of the best baked goods you've ever eaten. We've never tried anything we didn't like. Check out their Boston Cream donuts and their wide variety of muffins and bagels. They also serve coffee to go with your sweets. Hole in One also has a location in Orleans that serves a full breakfast. The Hole in One shown here, in Eastham, is attached to Fairway Restaurant (https://www.fairwaycapecod.com/) that serves a full breakfast menu that is delicious as well!

Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar

3580 U.S. 6, Eastham, MA 02642
, (508) 255-2575

Arnold's is a staple for our Cape Cod trips. We eat here at least 3 times every time we visit (even if we only come for 3 days). Arnold's is what you'd expect from a clam bar. The menu consists mostly of fried foods, but they also make a killer lobster roll and amazing chowder. There are also options available for those with dietary restrictions. At Arnold's you order at the counter, get a pager, and then get the food when the pager rings. It's very casual and not a "full service." Also of note, most of the seating for Arnold's is under outdoor tents. The building is not air conditioned and can sometimes get very warm. Pro Tip: Arnold's has its own mini-golf course that only costs a couple bucks. It's a ton of fun to play a round after you've eaten, before you get some of their awesome ice cream! But definitely bring bug spray!

Highland Lighthouse

27 Highland Light Road, North Truro, CT 02652

This is where we got engaged! Beautiful views and a ton of history here. The tower is closed for repairs, but there’s still a gorgeous lookout point and little store at the base. Would still recommend seeing this if you have the time. And the Truro Vineyard is basically across the street - go there for some amazing local product.

For all the days along the way
