COVID-19 Update

1/6/2021

Dear Friends and Family, We are working to ensure all the guests at our wedding will be safe and healthy. To comply with current Chicago coronavirus restrictions, we will be cutting back our guest list and not having a dance floor. We are livestreaming our wedding ceremony for those that cannot physically be with us. We are also moving our wedding date from January 23, 2021 to March 20, 2021 to create a safer environment for our guests. We apologize for the many changes and will keep you posted if anything else changes. Thank you for your understanding. Stay healthy! Love, Natalie and Michael

Origin Story

How We Met

We first met in high school, playing flute together and sitting in the same math class. Ten years later, we went to an I Fight Dragons concert together and out to lunch at Level 257. We took about an hour to get around to ordering food that day, but we knew what we really wanted - to be nerdy together! Now we travel the world, trying beers and bringing the word of the nerd to those in need! No country is too far, no food is too exotic (unless it has peppers in it) and no mountain is too high!

Joining Forces

The Proposal

Picture this: On a tall, snow-covered mountain in Colorado with hot cocoa and lots of fresh powder, with the sun setting behind us, Michael goes down on one knee and proposes to Natalie in a meaningful and picturesque setting. Instead, Nat broke her arm rollerskating while trying to save Michael from falling on his butt and our ski trip was cancelled. However, Michael would not be deterred! On Feb. 16, he managed to surprise Nat while still getting that scenic proposal during a sunset, on the half-frozen beaches of St. Joseph, Michigan. The ring barely got on her swollen hand in the sling, but she looked beautiful with it just over the distal interphalangeal joint on her ring finger. The proposal best exemplifies one of the best things about us: No matter what the situation, we always make the best of things, and they often turn out better than expected! Thank you again for coming to our site, and we can't wait to see you at the wedding!
