Leslie was an associate veterinarian at a veterinary hospital in Aurora, CO and Mike was hired to be the practice manager. Shortly after starting, Mike realized that Leslie was a very passionate veterinarian and found her outspoken and direct communication to be very intimidating. For that reason, he avoided her as best he could. Leslie was impressed with Mike's work ethic and thought he was attractive, but kept her distance since he always seemed to be so quiet around her. A year later, the practice owner purchased a second veterinary hospital and assigned Mike and Leslie to work together on Tuesdays at the new practice. Mike, still afraid of Leslie, buried himself in work at the front desk while Leslie sat in the back the hospital by herself bored out of her mind. Eventually, desperate for human interaction, Leslie started forcing Mike to speak with her. One day, Mike made a joke in front of Leslie, which was so unexpected that Leslie didn't even understand that it was a joke. After explaining it was a joke, Leslie thought it was adorable and asked Mike out on a date. The following week, Mike proceeded to completely forget about their date and got burgers with his brother instead. However, he made it up by asking her out the following week. They both knew it was an instant connection and immediately started dating, making Tuesdays their regular date night. Despite working closely together and living together, they successfully kept their relationship a secret from their entire hospital for a year. After they both left that veterinary hospital, they were finally able to reveal the secret and be open about their relationship. They have continued to grow and fall even more in love to this day.
