As the former home of both the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games, this Olympic site is a must see! Ride a ski lift to the top of the hill and then take an elevator to the top of the ski jump for a truly AMAZING view of the surrounding high peaks.
Ski season may be long over by our wedding date but there are still things you can do at Whiteface. We highly recommend taking a gondola to the top of Little Whiteface. Whiteface also offers mountain biking.
Do you remember the miracle on ice?! That happened in Lake Placid! This museum is small but super cute and has lots of neat Olympic memorabilia, including items from the miracle on ice game.
We have yet to hike to the top of Whiteface, but we have driven to the top! If you'd like to experience the top of one of the 46 high peaks without having to hike, Whiteface is for you! There are two options for getting all the way to the top. You can either take an elevator, or you can hike up the last .25 mile or so to the top. The view from up here is NOT to be missed. *Hoping that this road will be open by our wedding date*
We can't say enough good things about the food and drinks here! Order one of everything...or at least order the beef brisket! These guys are only open for dinner, so if you're just in town Friday night, you'll have to make the trip back just to eat here!
Where are my beer and bar food lovers at?! Stop here for either lunch or dinner! Before I got the dreaded Celiac Disease and had to say goodbye to beer, this was my favorite craft beer around. I can't recommend just one because there are so many good ones. I may have had to say goodbye to their beer, but their menu has gluten free options, including my beloved Lake Placid Pub burgers! Come here and have a beer for me!
