Located in Placencia Village not far from the rentals, this Sanctuary is the world's first jaguar preserve and is home to cascading waterfalls (you can swim in them!), panoramic mountain views, nature trails, furry mammals, reptiles, and tropical birds. River tubing can be done here and tours leave from the Chabil Mar a resort located on the penninsula. Cockscomb Basin contains one of Belize's highest points (Victoria Peak). Surely a must see!
Kayaking is offered at Laughing Bird Caye. With crystal clear waters, sunshine, and Caribbean breezes are perfect to enjoy while gliding across the warm waters! See untouched coral reefs, white sandy beaches, and many marine wildlife like the sea turtle! Many Cayes can also be explored while kayaking!
A boat ride to Monkey River Village, and into the jungle to see the resident howler monkeys. While on your adventurous ride see crocodiles along the riverbank, iguanas in trees, reptiles, bats, and exotic birds! Have lunch with the villagers and on the way back try to spot manatees along with their pups!
