In august 2012 Carlin decided to try the new craze of online dating. Unbeknownst to her Michael had decided to try the same thing. Both tried the dating site "Plenty of Fish (POF)". After some laugh-worthy dates on both sides, Carlin had decided to delete her account but looked and saw a message from a cute blonde in his military fatigues on a playground buldozer toy, the message read "have you ever ridden a toy bulldozer? This made Carlin laugh and they immediately hit it off in conversation and decided to meet at Coppertop where they fell in love over bacon cheeseburgers and beer. While I am sure most of you have heard the story about the night they met from Carlin's mom or cousin Brittany, the two hung out until the early hours of the morning and they have been inseparable ever since! Michael made their relationship official on February 3rd when he asked Carlin to be his girlfriend during a Super bowl party they had at his apartment.

Michael proposed to Carlin in Honduras February 15th 2017. For those who know Carlin, they know she has an unhealthy obsession with sloths. 9 Months prior to their engagement they booked a cruise to the Caribbean with their friends Eddie and Brittany. After serious research Carlin found that their was a place in Honduras where you could actually hold a sloth!!! While this became all that she talked about for the 9 months leading to their cruise, Michael found this as his opportunity to ask Carlin to be his wife, I mean what better way than with a sloth!! That day they explored Honduras and when the time came to hold the sloth Carlin nearly died from excitement. Michael dropped to one knee and Carlin had the surprise of a lifetime! They celebrated by going to the beach and having a nice dinner later that night on the cruise with their closest friends.
