Welcome to Bundoran, Barbara’s hometown on Ireland’s northwest coast! We’re so excited to celebrate with you here and to share some of the incredible places that make this corner of the Wild Atlantic Way so special. If you’re spending a few extra days before or after the wedding, here are some of our favorite scenic spots that all within easy reach of the Great Northern Hotel, where most guests will be staying.
Rougey Cliff Walk & Fairy Bridges

Rougey Cliff Walk & Fairy Bridges

Tullan Strand Road, Bundoran, DL, Ireland

Start this walk right outside the hotel. It’s an easy coastal path with sweeping Atlantic views, sea arches, and the famous Fairy Bridges and Wishing Chair. Best enjoyed at sunset, it’s one of Bundoran’s most beautiful spots.

Tullan Strand Beach

Tullan Strand Beach

A long, golden beach just outside town, perfect for a peaceful walk or for watching surfers catch waves on the Atlantic. Tullan Strand is also part of the Rougey Walk loop, making it an easy and scenic stop along the way.

Gleniff Horseshoe

A dramatic mountain valley loop, perfect for a scenic drive or short walk. Towering cliffs, lush green slopes, and quiet country roads make it one of the most beautiful drives in Ireland.

Benbulben Forest Walk

A gorgeous coastal loop with views of Classiebawn Castle and the Atlantic crashing below. Mullaghmore is also known worldwide for its giant winter waves . It’s a beautiful drive or a refreshing walk.

Rossnowlagh Beach

Rossnowlagh Beach

Golf View, DL, Ireland

A long, sweeping beach known for its soft sand and the unique ability to drive your car right onto the shoreline. We’ll be surfing here on the Friday before the wedding, but it’s also a beautiful spot for a stroll or to watch the waves roll in.

Donegal Town Centre

Donegal Town Centre

Donegal, DL, Ireland

A lovely little town with plenty of character and no shortage of pubs and restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed lunch, a good pint, or a spot with live music, you’ll find lots of options here. It’s also a great place to pick up small souvenirs and local trinkets from the craft shops around town.

Slieve League Cliffs

Slieve League Cliffs

Bunglas Road, Teelin, DL F94 EV52, Ireland

Slieve League boasts some of the tallest sea cliffs in Europe, even higher than the Cliffs of Moher and the views are nothing short of spectacular. We’ll be heading there on the Monday after the wedding for a boat tour, and we’d love for everyone to join.

For all the days along the way
