Things To Do In The Faire

The Wedding Website of Amanda Johnston and Michael Rafferty
We know that many of you have not attended a Renaissance Faire before! To help give you an idea of what you can look forward to, Mike and I compiled a list of some of our favorite things to check out at the faire. PLEASE NOTE: The schedule of the faire changes week to week and may not be the same as it has been previously so we cannot guarantee that you can see all of the activities we have listed. These are just some of the things we have seen in the past that are always awesome to check out and tend to be back year after year. BE ADVISED: If you plan on drinking, eating or shopping while at the faire please bring cash or a credit card with you. While Mike and I are happy to pay for your food and alcohol during the reception, all of those things will not be paid for in advance inside the faire grounds. Please plan your visit accordingly. ATM's are available for you inside the grounds if needed. Entertainment is free but everything else is not. ID is required to drink on the grounds

Aaron Bonk

FIRE WHIPS AND SWORD SHOW!!! This man is AMAZING!! Super funny to watch and fun for all ages. He holds many world records and likes to quote Monty Python.....need I say more. We see him every time he is there and he is always a delight to watch.

Sir Arthur Greenleaf Holmes

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!! If you like poetry and vulgarity this is the person to go see! His work is DEFINETLY not kid friendly by any means, but super funny and always a delight. Mike and I make it a point to see him every time we go to the faire, and have attended a Christmas event that he held at Mount Hope a few years ago (which we highly recommend). Check out his website for more details if you are interested!

Knightwings Birds of Pray

This is a great educational show for all ages to see. You get to watch a few birds of prey (hawks, owls and falcons) fly around and catch things and learn about them in the process from an amazing master falconer. They typically have spot set up in the faire as well to see their birds when they are not performing. Check out Edgar the raven as well if you want to see an amazingly intelligent bird do some dances and stuff. If you would like, they also accept donations to help fund the birds and their organization. They are amazing and every little bit helps them out! Check out their Facebook page for more details if you are interested.
