The Wells Fargo Scandal

The start of it all!

When most people hear about a Wells Fargo Scandal they assume you are talking about all the craziness that happened in the news around 2016 that made a lot of headlines and caused quite a commotion. However we have a scandal of our own. You ask how we met...Mike was Amanda's boss. Now I know what you are thinking...office romances never work. There is all this sneaking around trying not to get caught. One person breaks up with another and then you have to see the person for 40 hours each day wondering how you will get out of this if you don't get caught. Favoritism, Quid Pro Quo situations and all that happen and its just too much stress for people to handle and to that I would say Jim (if your name is Jim), you are absolutely right! Amanda stared working at Mike's branch in 2018 and the two immediately hit it off. When Amanda had vacation scheduled they decided to meet up, hang out and see what would happen. Sparks flew and each knew that they wanted to tempt fate and see what would happen if they were to start dating. While Amanda was on vacation, they disclosed to their boss that they wanted to date each other, laughter ensued and Amanda agreed to become a floating teller until a branch could be found for her so they wouldn't have to work together. Okay...so it wasn't much of a scandal, but they did get their co-workers talking and gossiping by sneaking around and hiding in the safe deposit box area which is nothing to sneeze at.

Amanda Shouldn't Watch Chick Flicks

The proposal

It was the year 2020 (before all the Covid shutdowns happened) and Amanda and Mike are still going strong. After dating for 2 years, having gone on vacations and living together at this point, Amanda decides that it is time to take the relationship to the next level. After watching one of the only chick flics that she actually likes (Leap Year) a thought came to her mind. "What is stopping me from asking Mike to marry me? This isn't too crazy of an idea! Mike and I are Irish...this could actually work!" Amanda said to herself. She immediately called her best friend (and Maid of Honor) Rachel and told her about the thought she had and Rachel agreed that it was an awesome idea. It just so happened that 2020 was a leap year so she had just enough time to pull this off is she wanted. Rachel came up to visit for a bit and the girls decided to go out ring shopping for Mike. They found the perfect ring and the idea Amanda had was now a reality! But...how would she actually do it? After procuring the ring, Amanda reached out to Mikes best friend Jake (and Best Man) and let him know what she was planning. Since Mike and Amanda are huge nerds, they play Dungeons and Dragons and just happened to playing in a campaign setting that Jake was running at the time. Through some careful planning, Amanda and Jake were able to come up with a situation in which Mike's D&D character will find a ring in the game and Amanda would give him the ring in real life. It was PERFECT! Now all she had to do was wait...which was hard. The week and day before the proposal, Amanda let all of Mikes friends and family know about what she was doing. She called his Dad and asked for his permission to 'pop the question' which he was thrilled to hear and gave his blessing. Everyone was so excited! The time came... the game started and Amanda proposed! Mike said yes and went out the next day to buy Amanda a ring to make it even more official.
