Question

I don’t have a 4WD vehicle or I am uncomfortable driving on the beach. How will I get to your ceremony?

Answer

A shuttle service will be provided to and from the ceremony and reception. The Shuttle will depart from the main hotel, the Corolla Village Inn at approximately 5:00 pm. The Shuttle will also make a pick up run later in the night when festivities are dying down, approximately 11pm. It will return guests to the Corolla Village Inn. Even if you do not plan on staying at the Corolla Village Inn, please meet the shuttle at this location. If you’d prefer to drive yourself, another option is a 4WD rental vehicle. Many companies in OBX offer daily and weekly vehicle rentals specifically for the purpose of visiting the 4WD beaches. Plenty of parking space will be available at Villa Valhalla for your personal or rental vehicle.

I’ve never driven on the beach road before. Are there any special requirements?

Answer

Traveling on the sand in OBX offers a unique experience, unlike any other. Our rental company, Twiddy, has a whole webpage dedicated to answering this question. The MAIN THING that we would like to stress to all of our guests is that you WILL NOT be able to reach our ceremony/reception without a 4WD vehicle! PLEASE DO NOT attempt it otherwise. YOU WILL GET STUCK. Can we stay over the night of the wedding?

Answer

Of course! We understand that some people may not want to leave when the shuttle does, and those who have driven themselves may not be able to leave depending on the amount of alcohol consumed 😂. Most importantly, we want everyone to be safe and have a good time! We may not be able to provide a bed/room the night of the wedding but our beach house is huge! There are plenty of couches and extra room. Bring a sleeping bag, an air mattress, even a tent. We will happily make a spot for you! Make sure to pack an overnight bag, pillow/blanket ect.

We’re staying in OBX for the weekend, can we hang out at the beach house?

Answer

Yes, yes, yes! We have the beach house until Sunday morning. Bring your swimsuits, your fishing poles and your sunscreen! Take a dip in the pool, relax in the hot tub, have a drink on one of the decks, or hit the beach with us!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Not really. But if you are looking for some direction, Beach Causal. Keep in mind. It will be hot, it will be windy and it will be sandy! Flip flops or sandals, (even bare feet!) are encouraged! 🤗

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We do not plan on creating a wedding registry. At this time, we aren’t in need of any of the typical registry items. We also realize that an out of town wedding can get complicated and pricey. Simply finding the funds and time off to get there can be an ordeal. We would much rather have you by our side on our big day! For anyone feeling particularly generous or for those of you who simply won’t listen to us, we do have a cash fund available and located on our “Registry” tab.

What other accommodation options are there?

Answer

For guests planning on utilizing the shuttle service to our wedding, we suggest the recommended main hotel (Corolla Village Inn) as this will be the pick up and drop off location. However, if you are interested in staying somewhere else, the outer banks is a vacation wonderland! Most rental home companies offer weekly stays (we recommend Twiddy!) and plenty of nightly rentals are listed on websites like Airbnb. If you stay somewhere other than the Corolla Village Inn but still intend on taking the shuttle, PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP. Depending on your location, we may be able to have the shuttle service come to you. If not, we will need to provide you with a parking pass in order for you to park your vehicle when meeting the shuttle at the main hotel.
