This rigorous 3/4 mile loop trail begins and ends in the day-use area of Allis State Park
Climb 58 ft up for the best views in the area! Located in the day use area of Allis State Park.
Buoyed by pontoons, the Brookfield Floating Bridge spans Sunset Lake and is one of our favorite places to go swimming, fishing or kayaking. There's a small, grassy beach on the far side of the bridge that's perfect for a picnic and it's just 5 minutes from Allis.
Our favorite local course! It has a ton of character, is well maintained and runs right along with White River in case you need to take a quick dip. There are gnomes hidden at every hole and Micah's been spending a ton of time on this course preparing for the Texas tournament! If you're interested in a round, let Micah know. He has extra discs!
We went here on our first date. Needless to say, we had a blast. The burgers and craft brew selection are pretty great too.
Housed in a converted train depot, Babes serves the best cocktails in the area and, it's just a fun place to hang out.
The most beautiful place to go for a swim! It's usually quite crowded, especially on weekends, but it's worth taking a peek. There are some great swimming holes just above and below warren falls if you want to avoid crowds.
We've eaten so much friend chicken from Canteen Creemee Co! The ice cream is excellent too!
Open every Saturday 9AM - 1PM
There are plenty to choose from!
Camels Hump and Mount Mansfield, two of Vermont's most famous hikes, are just about an hour from the Park and there are dozens of other trailheads in between. If you're looking for a good hike, stop into the park office or ask one of us!
There are several state parks within an hour drive of Allis that are great for swimming, fishing, hiking and boat rentals! The closest are Silver Lake in Barnard, Little River in Waterbury and all the parks in the Groton State Forest (Kettle Pond, Boulder Beach, Ricker Pond, Stillwater, Big Deer and New Discovery). If you're camping at Allis, you can get into all of these places for free!
