Things To Do

We hope you enjoy the drive through the Columbia River Gorge to get to Hood River. Here are some ideas of things to do along the way, and once you arrive!

McMenamins Edgefield

2126 Southwest Halsey Street, Troutdale, OR 97060
, (503) 669-8610

Stop into a famous McMenamins and explore the historic hotel right off the freeway

Multnomah Falls

OR 97014

Stretch a bit and check out this famous waterfall, viewable from the highway, better up close.

Bonneville Fish Hatchery

70543 Northeast Herman Loop, Cascade Locks, OR 97014
, (541) 374-8393

Say hi to Herman the Sturgeon, an 11ft fish at the fish hatchery

Full Sail Brewing Company

506 Columbia Street, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 386-2247

Grab a pint, and watch the river go by. We highly recommend the pilsner.

Ferment Brewing Company

403 Portway Avenue, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 436-3499

This is where we will have welcome drinks on Friday, May 29th. More information to come!

Broder Øst

102 Oak Street, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 436-3444

Renowned brunch spot in Portland opened a restaurant in Hood River. Try the Æbleskiver. You won't regret it.

Boda's Kitchen

404 Oak Street, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 386-9876

Great place to get a grab and go lunch in downtown Hood River

History of the Columbia River Gorge

Hood River, Oregon

Here is a website for you history buffs that highlights different historic landmarks throughout the Gorge and Mt Hood.

Wind Mountain Trailhead

Wind Mountain Trail, Stevenson, WA 98648

We hope the wildflowers are in bloom! This is a ~5 mile butt-busting hike with a beautiful view as your reward. Much less crowded and less intense than the famed Dog Mountain

Friends of the Gorge

Hood River, OR

Looking for a hike? Check out this site to see what trails are open, which might require an early wake up to get a permit, and which have the best wildflowers.

For all the days along the way
