Franconia Ridge Loop - Meri's Favorite Hike in the Area (30 min driving)

Old Bridle Path Trailhead, Franconia, NH 03580, Franconia, NH 03580

Meri's favorite hike in all of New England. Heads up, this hike is a challenging 8.6 miles and takes the better part of the day. Water, food, sunscreen, and proper hiking attire is required.

Welch-Dickey Trailhead, Meri's Mom's Favorite Nearby Hike (10 min driving)

Orris Road, Thornton, NH 03285

The bride's mom's favorite hike in the area. A White Mountain "beginner" friendly trail. 4 miles: summit two smaller peaks, great views along a ridge, and a short 10 min drive from the resort. A great hike to break yourself into the spiny Whites. Bring water and snacks. This hike has a decent bit of gain and exposure. A good workout and overall 9/10 hike.

Old Man of the Mountain

Old Man of the Mountain

260 Tramway Drive, Franconia, NH 03580

New Hampshire's famous Old Man of the Mountain, as seen on the state license plates and state quarter. Unfortunately, the Old Man is no longer with us - his face fell off from natural erosion - but the park is a beautiful place to go with plenty of easy and challenging trails close by.
