The best hot dogs in the Chicagoland area. Period. And don't even think about asking for ketchup.
Both of our families come from the Chicago burbs and anyone from the burbs will tell you the place to get Italian beef is Johnnie's. We're also fans of their Italian ice.
This is a little bit of a hike from Elmhurst, but it is one of our favorite date spots in Chicago. Its a hole in the wall byob Korean restaurant where you cook at the table! Get the Bulgolgi beef and mix in all the delicious toppings.
Great authentic Italian food in Old Town Chicago. Our favorite pasta is Conchiglie alla Sarda, but you can't really go wrong here.
We've never actually been to the zoo, but one of our favorite things to do is take a stroll in the park just next to the zoo with Wrigley. There are some of the best views of Chicago from the bridge. Also, on Saturday mornings there is an awesome farmer's market just next to the zoo.
If you're looking for something to get you in the Halloween spirit, Jack's Pumpkin Pop-Up is fun. Just beware of the overpriced pumpkins.
Fun spot to hit some golf balls or play mini golf. We've been known to stop by here just for the soft serve ice cream.
