She somehow always knows what Melissa is thinking, has been there through every high and low, and has a sixth sense for handling anything before anyone else even notices it needs to be done. Her planning and organization skills are unmatched — they even helped Brett pull off the perfect proposal!

She’s funny, caring, and the kind of friend who brings an easy joy to every room she’s in. Melissa’s so lucky to have Jill’s humor, warmth, and creativity by her side — both in life and on the big day.

When they hangout, it is a combination of non-stop fun, inside jokes, and goofing off. Martina is the groom’s sister — and quickly became one of Melissa’s favorite people to laugh with. The two bonded over their shared love of reality dating shows (the more dramatic, the better) and can often be found riffing off each other’s jokes until the conversation descends into total absurdity. Martina is effortlessly fun, kind, and always up for a good laugh. She’s the type of person who makes everyone feel comfortable and keeps the energy light and happy — a perfect balance of humor and heart. Melissa feels so lucky to have gained not just a sister-in-law, but a true friend who shares her appreciation for terrible TV, good company, and endless laughter.

Melissa met Justine in pottery class, where their friendship began over lopsided mugs and mutual roasting of each other's "creative" masterpieces. Justine is the friend who somehow has her life completely together while still being laidback. She’s always off on some amazing trip, planning her next adventure, or giving the kind of encouraging advice that makes you wonder if she secretly knows the answers to everything (which, honestly, she probably does). She’s warm, fun, endlessly supportive, and the type of person who makes you feel instantly at ease.
Jack Gherasim

Jack and Brett’s friendship started in high school while working together at Wholesale Club. When they weren’t joking around at work, they were at their weekly “Hoop Tournament,” battling friends in Super Smash Bros. After high school, they became the go-to duo at house parties and bars, teaming up to dominate every party game. Now, they spend their time golfing, hitting the casino, and watching football. Jack and Melissa also share their own bond—he’s the one who introduced her to Fortnite, leading to months of late-night gaming marathons. Jack has been a major part of Brett’s life for years, and there’s no one better to stand by his side as Best Man.
Mike Farthing

Mike and Brett have been good friends since kindergarten. As they grew up and moved through high school, Mike discovered something that would become pivotal to their friendship. He showed Brett a newspaper ad for “Smashkatoon,” a local tournament for the video game Super Smash Bros. From then on, the two spent countless weekends playing the game and eventually began traveling outside the province to attend events, making many friends along the way. Mike and Brett became known as a duo, and people in the community were often surprised to see one without the other—many even believed they were brothers.
Chris Ewen
Groomsman
Brett has known Chris since high school—oddly enough, through his sister, Martina. Chris also became an avid Super Smash Bros. player, which led to him becoming part of both Martina’s and Brett’s friend groups. Outside of Smash Bros., the two once shared a passion for streaming video games on Twitch. They often supported each other by tuning into one another’s streams whenever they were live, and even collaborated on streams together at times.
Dylan Voysey
Groomsman
Dylan and Brett met through Super Smash Bros. tournaments. They have taken many trips together to compete in and spectate large events, creating lasting memories with friends who joined them—traveling to places like Vancouver. Dylan has also worked with Brett at the Wholesale Club for many years, where they’ve shared countless experiences and events with both colleagues and customers.
Aaron Macadaeg
Groomsman
Aaron, commonly referred to as “aMac” in the group, is another friend Brett met at Super Smash Bros. tournaments. While Mike and Brett were known as a duo at these events, they soon discovered that Dylan and Aaron were much the same. Aaron has also traveled frequently with Brett and is known among the group for always wanting to try new places to eat. Many of these spots are outside of Brett’s more “linear” taste, but over the years, Aaron has helped broaden Brett’s palate, introducing him to foods and restaurants he might not have tried otherwise.
