Whyte Ave is an awesome place to meander around and enjoy some local shops and food. During the day you get a variety of different ethnic foods and check out local boutiques and coffee shops. At night, Whyte Ave turns into the hot spots for bars and pubs to enjoy a nice drink and maybe a dance.
While doing construction on the river, Edmonton has created an accidental beach on the North Saskatchewan River - not the equivalent of Lake Michigan but you can definitely get some sun. There is street parking on 98 A Ave NW where you can walk down to the beach.
The home of the Oilers! Though hockey will not be going on during June, this is the home of John's man crush - McDavid. Centered in the Ice District it might be worth just checking out and seeing if maybe you can get a glimpse of the great one (is that McDavid or Gretzky?)
Edmonton has an extensive river valley that you can walk through and enjoy. Take a walk through nature and forget your in a city of over a million people! The river valley goes across the entire city...meaning you can go walking for days!
Jessica served at Yiannis for around 3 years and loves the environment and food. Authentic greek restaurant that has belling dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. The appetizers are amazing and you can enjoy some authentic Ouzo or greek coffee while enjoying your Saganaki (Goat cheese that it lit on fire at your table!)
