Jonathan and Jessica's paths crossed from a very young age. Both being born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, our parents were friends before either of us were born. Eventually John moved to Germany at six and then St. Joseph, Michigan when he was eight. Jessica and the Meier family would drive down to St. Joseph yearly and Jonathan and Jessica would see each other occasionally. Nothing significant happened until the summer of 2014 when the Meier family was visiting St. Joseph and we went on our first date. Jessica then went back to Edmonton and neither thought twice about it again. Then fast forward to June 2016 when Jessica moved down to St. Joseph, Michigan. Jessica did not have a lot of friends and depended significantly on John as a friend. Friendship then grew into a crush which led to dating and falling in love. The next step - happily ever after.

As Jessica was finishing work late one Saturday night, John suggested going out for dinner. After a bite to eat, John and Jessica went to walk the bluff - which at the time had thousands of Christmas lights up for the Christmas season. It was a chilly December evening and half way through walking down the bluff, by the big lit up Christmas tree, John's brother Mike popped up with Jessica's dog - Maximus. Max had a Christmas bag attached to his collar with a beautiful ring in it. John proposed and Jessica said "Yes!" through her tears. And so starts our #YouHadMeAtHannich story!
