Question

What COVID protocols will be in place?

Answer

We will be fully vaccinated and ready to party! We ask that you plan for the same. If you cannot be vaccinated before the wedding, please plan to wear a mask for the duration of the event per CDC guidelines. We will not have assigned seats at the reception and plan to have some socially distanced tables for those who may not feel comfortable eating at the larger tables. We will be keeping a close eye on CDC recommendations up to the day of the event and will clearly communicate if anything changes. Please reach out to us if you have questions or concerns.

Is the venue outdoor or indoor?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors. The reception will be indoors in a fully air-conditioned building. Both the ceremony and the reception are at the same venue.

May children attend?

Answer

Absolutely! Children of all ages are welcome. There is a playground at the venue and kids always know how to get the party started. Please note if your kids are picky eaters you may want to bring them a snack as the dinner will be vegetable-heavy. If you have infants or toddlers who need to nap or if you need a place to nurse/pump, there is a quiet, private space to do so.

What should we wear?

Answer

We are having a blended culture wedding! You may wear typical American business casual attire or traditional Kerala wedding attire. Sarees, dresses, slacks, sport coats, and mundus are all welcome. No jeans please.

What type of food will we eat?

Answer

Dinner will include red pepper chicken with roasted seasonal vegetables, greek cucumber salad, garlic bread, rice pilaf, as well as Macaroni and Cheese. We have tried to create a menu that incorporates our favorite foods, but that can be shared by both our vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends and family. Beer, wine, and signature cocktails will also be provided.

How long is an American Wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony will start at approximately 5:30pm. We ask that you arrive by 5:15pm. The ceremony will last about 30 minutes and the reception will take place immediately afterwards until about 10:30pm.

Are there any cultural traditions I should be aware of before I attend?

Answer

Come as you are. We are nerds and plan to have wedding programs that explain the different traditions throughout our ceremony.

Where should we plan to stay?

Answer

If you are coming from out of town, we encourage you to book a hotel room at the Courtyard by Marriott at Horizon Convention Center. Other close options are the Holiday Inn Express or Fairfield by Marriott in Muncie (see travel tab on our website). Hotels can also be found in Anderson, IN (about 20 minutes from venue) or Indianapolis, IN (about 1 hour from venue).
