You are [still] Invited!

On March 13th, 2020 when the world shut down we quickly realized, like most aspects of our life, our weddings would not happen as planned. After rescheduling what feels like 20 different times, we believe we finally see the light at the end of this crazy tunnel. Love is patient. On July 17th 2020, frustrated by the unknown yet resolved in our promise to each other, we decided to have an intimate, secret ceremony with just the two of us and our officiants. Our families and friends were gracious, accepting, and down right thrilled despite the heart break of not being able to attend. Love is kind. We watched on as wedding and anniversary posts continued to fill our newsfeeds. Channelling our jealousy into a lot of gardening and garage-tinkering. Love does not envy. And so we became champion tomato growers and re-built a mini cooper. Love does not boast and is not proud. . .but for the record Meghann is very proud of Shibu for rebuilding the mini and wants everyone to know it. We learned to share a home together and to manage our stressful careers via video call by stifling the noise of toilet flushing, dog barking, and loud exclamations in the background. Love is not rude. We compromised on what time to eat dinner, which is BY FAR the biggest barrier to remembering that love is not selfish, easily angered (read: Hangered) and keeps no record of all the times dinner took place after 10pm. Starting our life together hasn't exactly gone to plan, but if we're being honest neither of us is one for things going as planned. The world has felt quite dark in the last year for everyone. We know we are blessed to have found a love that does not delight in evil, always protects, and always trusts. We ask you to join us on July 17th, 2021, one year after our initial ceremony, to celebrate our love, and also to celebrate overcoming the difficulties we've all faced the past 18 months.
