We met on Hinge in July 2021, when New York felt almost normal again. Travis was immediately taken with Meg's photo at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and her love of spy movies.
When Travis asked her to dinner that Saturday, Meg said she couldn't: she was leaving town the next day. But she could do Friday. So they squeezed in a first date at Los Mariscos in Chelsea Market. Afterward, Meg texted a friend to lament she'd just had this great date and now she was leaving. The friend's advice? "Get over it. There's a million other guys out there."
What followed was a year of cross-country visits, two more of Amtrak rides to Boston during business school, and Christmases in Santa Cruz. In December 2024, Travis proposed on a beach in Santa Cruz that's been a mainstay for his family his entire life.
The New York area will always be meaningful to us. To be married in the state Meg calls home, with the site of our first date visible across the water: we're so excited to celebrate with you all.
