Wedding Party

Anna Simmons

Matron of Honor

Anna has mentored Meghan in work, life and in her relationship with Christian. They’re basically the same person and share pretty much identical interests in everything! They spend frequent nights snoozing on Anna's giant couch, cuddling dogs, playing with Anna's daughters, binge-watching Friends (Anna is the reason for Meghan’s obsession with the show) and eating comfort foods. Anna is Meghan’s rock and she can’t imagine anyone else by her side as she marries her best friend.

Katy Cotten

Bridesmaid

Meghan and Katy literally grew up together. They lived in the same neighborhood as kids and have been best friends for over a decade, Meghan is now an Aunt to Katy’s son, Raylan, and is secretly jealous that Raylan favors Christian over her. Katy and Meghan did everything together as kids. Literally. They had the same hobbies, played the same sports and even coordinated their nail polish colors together. Meghan insists Katy is her little sister, and she can’t wait to have her stand by her side on her big day.

Kate Fernandez

Bridesmaid

Kate is Meghan’s soon to be sister-in-law, and Meghan is beyond excited to call her family! Kate and Meghan share a love for ice cream, concerts and dogs. They frequently convince each other to purchase Friends merch, and compete over who can send each other the cutest dog videos. Meghan also lives for their daily cute-animal snapchats that include Kate's puppy, Louie.

Erin Burch

Bridesmaid

Erin is the life of the party and has the fiercest love for her friends. She always keeps Meghan smiling and gives the best pep talks. Erin and Meghan bonded over wine, ponies, and moving each other in and out of apartments. They love spending weekend adventures in Austin together, binging Netflix and eating breakfast foods. Erin is famously the one who pep-talked Meghan into going on a date with Christian (wine was involved) and has been there to cheer on their relationship ever since!

Sarah Gaiser

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Meghan are co-band groupies to The Herald. When Sarah’s boyfriend, Andrew joined Christian’s band Meghan was so excited to meet Sarah and was insistent to Christian that they would be best friends. Sarah and Meghan have only known each other for two years, but it feels like they’ve been friends forever. Sarah and Meghan’s friendship grew over Summermoom Coffee, sleepovers with their dogs, binge-watching movies from 2008 (Twilight....we binge watch Twilight okay), Game of Thrones watch parties, playing Nintendo Switch during band practice, Pluckers Trivia on Wednesdays and midnight trips to fast food chains after band gigs. Sarah keeps Meghan sane on the craziest of days, so of course Sarah has to stand by her side on her big day.

Juli Baco

Bridesmaid

Juli is the textbook definition of effervescent. She’s bright, bold and has sparked so much joy in Meghan and their friendship. Juli builds Meghan up and always knows what to say, she takes care of Meghan when she forgets to take care of herself, and has the biggest heart imaginable. Juli and Meghan built their friendship over camping out in line at 4 AM for concerts together, cupcakes, and movie nights after work. She is one of hte only people Meghan trusts to babysit her two dogs, Morty and Lacey- which is 100% a bragging right for Juli. Meghan can’t imagine her wedding day without having the ray of sunshine called Juli by her side.

Meredith Rogers

Bridesmaid

Meredith and Meghan met through work and bonded immediately. Both enthusiastic introverts, they share a love for dogs puns, The Office TV show, kayaking and snacks. Meredith shares all of her workplace snacks with Meghan, and they share a weakness for ordering Starbucks via Uber Eats on the regular. Thanks to our COVID delay, Meredith is unable to attend the wedding but is still an honorary bridesmaid from afar!

Ashley Gibbons

Bridesmaid

Meghan and Ashley have seen each other through several walks of life. They have lifted each other up in their jobs, relationships, faith and school. They bonded over a shared love for video games, puns, coffee and tattoos. Ashley recently moved to St. Kitts and is attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and will not be able to attend the wedding, but is still an honorary bridesmaid from afar!

Karson Lofink

Best Man

Where to begin with my best man? Karson has been my friend since 6th grade, and we know more about each other than people should. It is thanks to him, I met many of my other friends. Karson had an act for making friends thanks to his spiky, blonde hair, and I think he helped me come out of my shell. We hung out all through middle school and high school, and even though we went to separate colleges, we stayed close. He was actually one of the first of my friends to meet Meghan, and he told me early on that we were going to get married. God, I hate it when he’s right. There has never been a thought or feeling I have had that I ever felt uncomfortable sharing with Karson. He always been someone I could talk to and I am lucky to have that.

Brooks Lancaster

Groomsman

My college roommate and selfless friend, Brooks is happiest and funniest guy I know. While we may not have known each other in high school, we became good friends during college, especially when he came down to tour Texas A&M for first time. I showed him all the spots that meant something to me, and not only did A&M get a new student, but I ended up with a new roommate. Even after living together, our friendship has only strengthened and Brooks has always been there when I needed a favor, some advice, or someone to chill with on a Friday night.

Travis Green

Groomsman

While we didn't get to spend as much time together as we would have wanted when growing up, Travis has always been a close friend of mine. Friends since middle school, we would always hang out if Travis was not grounded, and if he was, there was always a great story that went with it. The hardest I have ever laughed has been with Travis on several occasions, and this is still true today. As we have grown up, Travis has become a man to look up to. His dedication to his wife, Maclaine, and their life together is something I try to embody everyday. He also carries my ass on the golf course when I make it out there, and that is debt I can never repay.

Michael Klym

Groomsman

My longest friend (est. in 3rd grade) with the longest hair, Michael has been a buddy of mine who I can always count on. One of my first real friends growing up, it seems like a great deal of my youth was spent hanging out at his house. It was essentially my second home where we spent countless days writing music, making Youtube videos, and navigating teenage life the best we could. The second home situation continued when we went to separate colleges too. I will never pass up a weekend in Austin. But rooming situations aside, Michael has always been there for the big parts of my life. We have been through a lot together and I know that will continue for as long as we live. It’s okay if you don’t name your child Christian, but it would be a lot cooler if you did.

Amit Ravani

Groomsman

Abandoned as a pup, Amit raised himself in a dumpster outside a Wendy’s in South Central Las Angeles. But enough of that boring story, let’s jump ahead to where he met me. Amit and I owe our friendship to Meghan. It also thanks to a party at his house, Meghan had enough liquid courage to agree to go on a blind date with me. While we may not have been friends long, it feels as though I have known Amit all my life. Our mutual love for games, both video and board, have always made our chill sessions fun. He also played a big part in setting up my engagement, and I promise we will pick up those lanterns from your house eventually.

Bobby Henk

Groomsman

To say Bobby is the coolest man I know is an understatement. The first time we met was on an early release day in 7th grade. My friends said a kid named Bobby Henk was coming to lunch with us. Little did I know this small act of inclusion would lead to one solid friendship. I have never had a bad time when I am with this guy, and I am honest when I say he is the life of the party. He also is never afraid to be real, and I am thankful that our friendship runs deep. He lives in Bedford with his fiancé Nic Stevens. These two are an amazing couple and I cannot wait for their wedding! He will also be our DJ at the Dallas reception. You’re welcome.

Matt Coonan

Groomsman

Matt became my friend in 7th grade, but we actually met a long time before that at a P.T.A. meeting back in third grade. I remember because my mom made me go and said that, “You’ll have fun. Matt Coonan will be there.” And all I could reply was, “Who is Matt Coonan?” Well, now I can safely say Matt Coonan is one of my best friends. Part of my friend group through middle school, we hung out all the time. He helped me get one of my first real jobs as a barista and has saved my life on more than one occasion. We also lived together in uptown Dallas and enjoyed the city from what I can remember. He has always had my back and I will always have his.

Tim Fernandez

Groomsman

You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. Thankfully, my big brother (well, bigger than me for the first 10 years of my life) has always been a close friend of mine. Even when I was baby, my brother and I would hang out. He once tried to pull me out the back door in a stroller when he was 4 years old. Growing up, he always looked out for me. We became closest when I was a freshman in high school and he had to drive me to school every morning. In those car rides he showed me life changing music, shared never ending laughs, and gave me advice I still use to this day. Thank you for being a groomsman and thank you even more for being my brother.

Dave West

Father of the Bride

The one and only. Passed down his love for Pixar movies, cake batter and cheesy jokes to Meghan. He's traumatized her by having waiters sing Happy Birthday to her at restaurants even when it's not her birthday and yelling out her name in public a lot. You know, normal dad stuff. But seriously, he's the best dad ever.

Rebecca West

Mother of the Bride

Like any cool Mom, Rebecca is always down for an impulsive trip to Target or Starbucks. The current highlight of Meghan's relationship with her mom is their daily talks on the phone. It started when Meghan was commuting an hour and a half to work from Grapevine every day. Their calls have become a daily tradition on top of a lifetime of mother-daughter memories.

Charles Fernandez

Father of the Groom

So many people tell me how nice my Dad is. He once told my friend Bobby to have a nice Sunday and it almost made him cry. He has always been a loyal and hard worker, providing so much for our family. I owe my love for music to my Dad. He liked to stray away from the norm and was always finding new music. I remember being a little kid jamming out to Dookie and thinking how cool my dad is. He showed me Radiohead, too, and that is a debt I can never repay. Like my Mom, he supports me in everything I do, and I hope he forgives me for every practice, Boy Scout event, or concert I took for granted. I will always look up to my Dad. He has been my example of a husband and father, and you would be hard pressed to find a better on. I love you, Dad.

Lynn Fernandez

Mother of the Groom

Condensing how much my Mother has meant to me into a few sentences should be illegal, but here we go. One of the strongest and most empathetic people I have ever known, it is hard to find some one more caring or comforting than my Mom. As I grew up and faced challenges, she knew when to step in or let me fight my battles. She sparked my love for movies and books and always encouraged me in everything I did. The same is true today. You will be hard pressed to find her missing at a Herald show, even if we go on at midnight. Most importantly, she chose my father and continues to choose him everyday. There are proof of what marriage can be, and I thank God for that. I owe so much of what I am to my Mom and I hope as I husband, I can continue to make her proud. I love you, Mom.
