Question

COVID-19 Update

Answer

Update 04.14.21 As of now, we are planning on continuing with our wedding but will be monitoring CDC guidelines relating to COVID-19 on a regular basis. Colorado currently is allowing events for 75 guests or less, so we are in the clear! We will be sending our guests with updates regarding wearing masks, social distancing, and other COVID protocols in September. You can visit https://bouldercolorado.gov/coronavirus for more information on the city and their COVID protocols.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered at Zola!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 20th, 2021! You can RSVP through our wedding website (here)!

Question

Where will the wedding take place?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will be held at Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder, CO. There will be dinner and drinks to follow at the Dushanbe Tea House and an after party at the Rio Grande on Walnut St.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire, but chose your footwear carefully! We’re literally on a mountain and want you to be comfortable walking around. Be aware that Colorado weather can be versatile- we recommend you bring a jacket!

Question

Will there be a bathroom at the ceremony site?

Answer

Yes! There is a public restroom at the venue available for use.

Question

Who can I contact if I get lost/have questions the day of the wedding?

Answer

Please call our wedding coordinator, Lindsey Sachs. (763) 300-2814

Question

Where can I stay for the wedding?

Answer

We have a room block reserved for guests from Wednesday, 9/15/21 through Sunday, 9/19/21 at Boulder Marriot. Click the link below or call and ask to be part of the West/Fernandez Wedding block! Please be sure to arrange your reservation before Saturday, August 14th, 2021. 2660 Canyon Boulevard | Boulder, Colorado 80302 (303) 440-8877 Meghan-Christian Fernandez Wedding We recommend to arrive a day or two early to adjust to the altitude, or stay a few days after the wedding to make it a vacation!

Question

Are children invited!

Answer

YES! Please bring your tiny humans with you! The Dushanbe Teahouse has prepared high chairs and kids menu for families who wish for children to attend. Please include the names of any children attending when you RSVP so we can prepare accordingly. *Please be aware- the ceremony will take place on the side of a mountain. Please make sure all children are supervised to prevent any dangerous slips/falls*

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We’ll be checking the weather frequently as our wedding date gets closer so we can update our guests! Boulder’s elevation usually ensures a mild climate. September temperatures in Boulder have an average high of 79° and low of 49° but anything is possible. We recommend warmer clothes in the early mornings and evenings as temperatures are colder during these times of the day!

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will be held outside in sickness and in health, in snow, rain or shine. We recommend bringing jackets and/or umbrellas just in case!

Question

What can I do to adjust to the altitude in Boulder?

Answer

Boulder has an elevation of 5,328 feet. We recommend you give your body time to adjust to the higher altitude: Stay below 7,000 feet and avoid high-energy activities for your first 24 hours in CO. Drink LOTS of water. The air is dry and your body can dehydrate quickly. Don't forget to moisturize! Eat right! A meal high in carbohydrates will improve your body's ability to absorb oxygen, and will give you the energy needed to adjust to the elevation. Avoid salty foods - the sodium will increase your blood pressure, which can exacerbate the symptoms of altitude sickness. Don’t drink right away. Alcohol may exacerbate some of the effects associated with altitude sickness or make it more difficult to acclimate to elevated conditions. Stay safe. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, reduced appetite, shortness of breath, loss of coordination and a decreased level of consciousness. Seek medical attention if these symptoms become severe.

Question

How do I get to the ceremony venue?

Answer

We have arranged a shuttle bus to pick our guests up from Boulder Marriot to take them to the ceremony site, as well as to the reception after the ceremony. Buses will also be picking guests up at the end of the reception and will charter to the Boulder Marriott and to the Rio Grande for our after-party. If you are not staying at the Boulder Marriot during your visit, you can still meet there to ride the shuttle! The buses are bright green so you can't miss them! We will be reaching out to our guests with more information on the shuttle soon!

Question

Will guests be allowed to take pictures during the wedding?

Answer

We will be having an unplugged wedding and ask that all guests turn off their phones during the ceremony. Guests are welcome to take pictures during the remaining wedding activities, and are encouraged to share pictures online with the hashtag #fernandeztakesherhandez

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures. Guests will be shuttled to the Dushanbe Teahouse patio where we will be serving appetizers and beverages. Be sure to explore their gardens! If you aren't taking the provided shuttle: 1770 13th Street, Boulder, CO, 80302 Street parking and nearby public parking lots available
