Megan and Jonathan "met" on May 22, 2018, long before they matched with each other on Bumble. They were both taking the patent bar at a testing center on Long Island and happened to sit behind each other. Jonathan noticed Megan nervously taking the exam and texted his friend Nick about her. Jonathan would have never guessed that he had just set eyes on his person for the first time! It seems that the universe was trying to get Megan and Jonathan to meet, because once Megan moved to NYC, the two of them ran at least 7 of the same NYRR races (only minutes apart). Their paths kept intersecting but just missing. But not for long. :)

After years of just missing each other, on Jonathan's birthday, Megan and Jonathan finally met (virtually) when they matched on Bumble. Jonathan was drawn to Megan's adventurousness (and her cute dog) in her pictures. Megan was drawn Jonathan's affinity for Halloween (and his photo as Jafar). They immediately started bonding over horror movies, travel stories, and running. It went so well that eventually they took their relationship to the next level and Megan gave Jonathan her number to continue their conversations off of Bumble. :)

Jonathan likes to say that Megan and Jonathan first started dating on Expert Mode. There was a global pandemic and NYC had only outdoor dining. And it was winter. Megan and Jonathan had their first date at the Bryant Park Winter Village. They sat outside in the park with some warm cocktails and finally got to chat in person. Jonathan didn't want the date to end, but he had to get home for his new dog Zeta. Despite the cold NYC weather, Megan and Jonathan found a way to spend more time together. They had a virtual movie night, they ate outside at some restaurants, and they even went on a few running dates together. Eventually, Megan and Jonathan shared a first kiss on Pier 17, right in front of the Brooklyn Bridge.

After several months of adventures together, Megan decided to leave Manhattan and move to LIC (across the street from Jonathan). Jonathan started a new job and Megan started studying for (and eventually passed) two bar exams. As Megan and Jonathan spent more time together, Jameson was able to crack through Zeta's tough exterior and they became best friends. Eventually, Megan and Jonathan took their relationship to the next level, and Megan moved in with Jonathan (across the street). Megan brought over her vast collection of plants to warm up the apartment and turn it into their home. Since then, they have gone on countless runs and adventures together. They even traveled to Germany to run the Berlin Marathon and attend Oktoberfest together!

Jonathan had originally planned to propose to Megan at the end of the Berlin Marathon, but after seeing videos of people cramping and collapsing trying to propose, he thought better of it. Instead he decided to take Megan back to Pier 17, to propose where they shared their first kiss. Jonathan biggest hurdle was figuring out Megan's ring size, since she didn't have any rings to use as a reference. Spoiler alert, the ring he got was way too big. Although Jonathan managed to secretly get a ring, he wasn't able to completely surprise Megan on the proposal day. As it turns out, Jonathan getting a haircut tipped off Megan that something was amiss. Jonathan nervously walked with Megan on Pier 17 and got on one knee to ask her to marry him. Megan said "Yes!" while the entire pier clapped. Megan and Jonathan are so excited to get married surrounded by all of their favorite people!!!
