The most recent forecasts show rain from the outermost edges of the storm early in the week and sunny (humid) skies later in the week as Florence tracks north. We are still planning a beautiful, sunny, fun, exciting, wonderful weekend, and we hope you are just as excited to celebrate and savor the last bit of summer.* The town of Hilton Head will be posting updates on their website (hiltonheadislandsc.gov) and on social media using the hashtag #FlorenceHHI. Josh and Megan first met at Rhodes College and reconnected in Baltimore. After successfully completing two years of Teach for America, Josh was so charmed by Megan and the aptly-named Charm City, that he stayed in Baltimore. From there their adventure took them to Lexington, VA and the Carolinas. Along the way they added Dixie to their family, the best dog in the entire universe, who played an important role in the proposal. While spending a long weekend in Hilton Head, Josh woke Megan up from a Charbar-induced food coma insisting that Dixie needed to run around before it got dark. Megan begrudgingly agreed to wake up and take the pup to the beach. Due to the chilly winds, they had the beach to themselves and Dixie had free reign to run around as she pleased. While Megan was distracted taking pictures of Dixie in front of a beautiful sunset, Josh snuck behind her and got down on one knee! Megan was overjoyed, and Dixie was perplexed that she was no longer the center of attention.
