Albuquerque and Santa Fe are the two closest cities to fly into and drive. Taos has a regional airport for charter flights. Taos Ski Valley is located in Northern New Mexico in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Taos Ski Valley is a 2 hour drive north of Santa Fe, a 3 hour drive north of Albuquerque, or 5 hour drive south from Denver. Taos Ski Valley is beautifully off the grid - aka no Ubers! We highly recommend having a car. Rental Cars: The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta starts 10/01/2022, so rental cars will be in high demand. Make sure to reserve your rental car in advance. If you stay outside of Taos Ski Valley, we highly recommend having a car. The town of Taos is 30 minutes away from Taos Ski Valley with limited transportation services this time of year.
