Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River

Since all of the wedding festivities will take place at Rio Perdido, we have reserved a block of East Bungalow rooms for our guests. The special rate for the wedding is $239/night +13% VAT. When you are ready to reserve your room please send an e-mail to monica.odio@rioperdido.com .Mention that you are with "Megan & Matthew Johnson Wedding | Room Block | November 2021" in order to get the special rate. Please book before September 1, 2021 as the rooms will only be held for us until then, there may be opportunity afterwards but no guarantee. Additionally, you are welcome to stay anywhere you'd like in the local area but will be responsible for your own transportation to/from all wedding events, a couple of AirBnBs are available as well as eco lodges. Of course we prefer to have you on site so that we can maximize our time with all of our guests!

Flight

Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, Guanacaste, Liberia, Costa Rica

The closest airport to Bagaces is Liberia, it is about 61km or a 1 hour drive. There are public buses that go to the nearest town, Bagaces and taxis can be taken from there. Flights to here to/from the UK operate with TUI on Wednesdays and a shuttle can be arranged for guests. Currently flights are priced around £450.

Flight

Juan Santamaria International Airport -- San Jose, Costa Rica

Flying into San Jose is also an option. It is a bigger airport with cheaper flights to/from London on Thursdays (previously Tuesdays) & Saturdays with British Airways. The distance to Rio Perdido is around 3 hours but there are plenty of bus routes heading to the area of Bagaces of which a shuttle will be made available for guests to/from the station.
