A new chapter in our love story

Through his eyes: There I was standing outside the AMC waiting to see a murder mystery with a quippy, blue eyed beauty I had met on a well-known dating app. I found myself nervous as I moseyed back and forth along the short sidewalk that lined the front of the building. "Is she standing me up again?" I thought to myself, as this was not the first time I had tried to meet her in person. I quickly pulled my phone from my pocket as it buzzed; "Sorry! Be there soon!" the text read. My nervousness eased a little, I was still concerned I was about to be stood up. Maybe the date was too simple I thought, a movie then drinks at The Fat Rabbit seemed like a great first date to me but to a well-traveled woman of the world? Maybe it was too simple. It was a cold night but as my eyes caught sight of her, fire filled my veins. Her dark chocolate hair bounced across her face as she hopped up onto the sidewalk and fell neatly around her shoulders. As her crystal blue eyes met my gaze, a sweet magnetic smile greeted me as well as a quick shot of her hand, waving to me almost apologetically for running late. I quickly closed the gap between us as she opened her arms to me. I wrapped my arms around her a squeezed her softly as the sweet smell of her chocolate hair filled my nose. Four years from the first time I held her so much has happened. From buying a house, getting another dog, late night study sessions turning into early morning drives to tests, adventures on the road and across oceans, I would have never guessed that my life could be filled with so much happiness after one small hug. In that hug I have found my home, my best friend, and my other half. I look forward to celebrating the love we found with all of you and cannot wait for the start of a new chapter to begin. Through her eyes: Our love story started on Tinder, of all places. After a bit of back-and-forth, we decided to meet up at an AMC theater. We settled on watching "Knives Out" (a murder mystery I chose because I'd already seen it) followed by dinner at “The Fat Rabbit” pub nearby (Matt’s pick). Of course, I was late thanks to missing my exit on the interstate because I was so nervous. Despite my tardiness, our connection blossomed over shared popcorn and my uncanny knack for solving mysteries. With laughter and conversation flowing effortlessly, we ventured to "The Fat Rabbit," where we revealed the mysteries of our own lives, our dreams, and our aspirations. As the night wore on, we weren't ready to call it quits. So we found ourselves in Matt's car, talking away until the early hours of the morning. It was one of those moments where time seemed to stand still, and we knew something special was happening. In the weeks that followed, we navigated the craziness of the COVID-19 pandemic together, going on all sorts of creative dates and adventures. And before we knew it, I had a key to Matt's place and we were co-parenting a pet squirrel. Yeah, you read that right. From that whirlwind first date to the memories we've made since, our love story is proof that sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them. And as we look ahead to our future, we can't wait to celebrate our love with all of you then see what other adventures life has in store for us!
