Maid of Honor
Micaela-Mica-Meek, and Megan met freshman year of college in University of Oregon's wildest dorm, Wal-Mac. They quickly became inseparable over quirky humor, business class study sessions, and Megan's initial lack of cooking skills. Realizing they never stopped laughing together, M&M remained roommates all 4 years in college, and wouldn't trade their shared experiences for the world. As friendships shift from college into adult life, living in different cities puts many to the test. M&M's distance from Portland to SF only made them closer, as well as honorary residents of each other's cities. Mica has been by her side for all Meg's "firsts" - including her first job, spontaneous first time out of the US to Canada, and now will stand next to her as she marries her first and only love, Kyle.
Best Man
Alan and Kyle met at University of Oregon as part of the same fraternity. After college, Alan trusted Kyle to scout for apartments in downtown Portland and they ended up finding an apartment with great views but a pink toilet. Try as he might as a phenomenal chef, Alan could not teach Kyle to cook anything besides rice. While Kyle couldn't always pronounce all of the items in the fridge, the quality meals were appreciated on hand-me-down outdoor furniture in the dining room. The chairs were usually situated dangerously close to the TV for maximum video game performance. Alan is still finding ways to get the most out of their free time through restaurant suggestions, games, and beers. Alan lives in Portland with his wife, Holly and their dog, Huck.
Matron of Honor
Megan & Monica established their hilariously indescribable bond during their junior year in college. When Mica, having known Monica since grade school vouched for her as a forever friend and room mate, Megan quickly became the third piece to their puzzle. Monica & Megan couldn't be more opposite, but their differences have sparked a friendship full of loyalty, support, and endless laughs. Through Monica's passionate nature, Megan's developed a greater appreciation for cats, wine, and food - cheese, most of all.
Groomsman
Collins and Kyle met through mutual friends while working for the same investment company. Collins is originally from Atlanta, but he has fully embraced the Northwest as his new home. Collins and Kyle have enjoyed weekends on the range, ski trips and exploring the Portland food scene. Quick with a smile and a joke, Collins brings a level of class that is impossible to replicate. Collins and his fiancée, Sam recently moved up to Seattle, but Kyle and Collins have stayed close friends and make the most of their weekends together.
Bridesmaid
Alex & Megan, with their outgoing spirits, instantly bonded freshman year of college over dorm room antics, frequent fraternity parties, and tequila cocktails. Alex's positivity and ability to make every situation more fun (even Calculus class) was a catalyst in initiating their life-long friendship. After living together for 2 pivotal years in undergrad, they still share passions for fitness, math, and celebrating 4th of July at any time of year. Alex, soon to be dubbed Dr. Schmidt, has provided Megan with countless hours of free therapy and support during their 6 years of living close to one another in Portland post-college. Megan appreciates her especially for her ability to balance meaningful friendships and fun with her unwavering drive and success in her career.
Groomsman
Mike and Kyle met through work and probably have the most active meme group in the Portland metro area. The memes help Kyle keep his sanity throughout the work day. They lived a couple blocks from each other in Goose Hollow until Kyle moved across town so Tom could have a backyard. Although Mike is across town, it's a quick drive to their favorite restaurants and bars to philosophize about the silliness of Portland.
Bridesmaid
Marla, Kyle's younger sister, was one of the first people that Megan met as a freshman in high school. They had several classes together and quickly bonded over being the only freshmen in level 2 Spanish. Marla moved to San Francisco for college and recently graduated as a Physican's Assistant. Megan was thrilled to be reunited with Marla through Kyle, and is excited to be gaining a sister-in-law.
Groomsman
Colin is Megan's younger but more mature looking brother. Colin invited Kyle to the archery range this year and Kyle hasn't missed many weekends since. With Colin's help moving into their new house, Kyle did not crash the U-Haul this time. Colin lives in Portland and coaches youth basketball when he's not managing projects at an industrial company.
Tom's Escort
Scout and Megan met while working together at a software company in Portland and became instant friends. They were inseparable from the beginning and often showed up to work in the exact same outfit. Because of this, many people at their office could not tell them apart and they became just “SAM”. The nickname stuck and so did their friendship, even after Megan moved to a new company. Scout has been a major support for Megan in everything from career changes, to her relationship, to becoming a dog mom. Scout has a 100 pound Doberman child who Tom absolutely adores, and has prepared her to get Tom (and our rings) down the aisle safely.
Ring Bearer
Tom is Megan & Kyle's beloved fur baby. When they first started dating, Megan told Kyle that someday she wanted to have a dog named Tom. Kyle was not sure what to do with this information, but hoped that he could eventually be a part of this plan. Tom is a one year old Bernedoodle who enjoys wrestling at the dog park, doing "zooms" inside the house and swallowing socks. He idolizes Megan's parents' dog, Winston and has become quick friends with the best man's canine, Huck. As a recent graduate of the Basic Manners class at the Oregon Humane Society, Tom is growing up to be a fine young pup.
