The Wedding Website of Megan Voss and Federico Libralato
Many of you will be traveling from the United States of America, so flying is probably your best option... unless you really like boats. We suggest using the trains to get around Italy. Driving there can be... challenging.

Travel Note

Italy Travel Basics

Currency: Euro Official Language: Italian Time Zone: CEST (That's 9 hrs ahead of California.)

Flight

Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport

The largest airport in Italy, approximately 2hrs away from Florence by train. This airport will have the most flights going into it and the best flights.

Flight

Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola

The closest airport to Florence, approximately 15 minutes by train. If you take a flight here, you will have a layover and have to switch planes.

Train

Leonardo Express

If you fly into Rome, you will need to take a train from the airport to the main train station in Rome, Roma Termini. The Leonardo Express takes you directly to Roma Termini.

Train

Freccia Rossa and Trenitalia

From Roma Termini, you can take the Italian high-speed train, Freccia Rossa, to Florence. It is about a 1hr 30min ride. You can also use Freccia Rossa to travel between other cities in Italy.

Train

GEST Tram

If you fly into Florence, you will need to take a tram from the airport to the main train station in Florence.

Hotel

Florence

Florence, Tuscany, Italy

We recommend staying in Florence. You will be surrounded by beautiful architecture, art, and history. It takes 20 minutes at most to walk from one end of Florence to the other, so there's really no bad area to stay in. Click VIEW to see a map of good areas to stay in. The good area to stay in is outlined in Purple. If you have any questions about a specific place or hotel, reach out to us!
