Ashli
Maid of Honor
Oldest younger sister. Former bunk bed-sharer and current brunch consultant. Ashli left the warm confines of the Midwest for the Great North/Canada Lite (i.e., Minnesota) and lives with a full-blown menagerie of 4 cats and 3 chinchillas Ashli is most looking forward to helping Megan and Billy have the most beautiful, amazing day with friends and family.
Jessie
Matron of Honor
Unofficial wedding planner. Cohort confidant and shopping therapist. Jessie moved to RVA from ‘Bama because she wanted to get her PhD and escape a terrible football team. She and her husband, Justin, have helped Megan and Billy remember their humanity throughout the last few years in school and are current record-holders for the longest mid-week birthday dance party (3/15/17). Also: Jessie really, really loves ‘Bama. RMFT.
Brianna
Bridesmaid
Youngest Carlson sibling. Former sassy nugget, current sassy tall person. Brianna is at Central College in Pella, IA working on her art degree and practicing her Spanish with a bunch of Dutch decedents. Bri shares with Megan a love of Pancheros, cats, and classic rock.
Katie
Bridesmaid
Best labmate/may actually have the same mother. Megan wasn’t initially sure about this new person from North Carolina in the lab, but eventually Katie wore her down with a mutual love of cats, nerdy things, sarcasm, beer, and camping. Also the potential for friendship to culminate in a week-long getaway to Maine in the summer. But mostly cats.
Drew
Bridesman
Only male in Carlson sibling clan. Prolific gamer and hot sauce enthusiast. This is Megan's only brother and first babysitting victim. Drew has the (dubious) honor of standing up for both Billy and Megan. He lives and works in the Wisconsin Dells, where he raids employees' rooms for contraband and makes really cool spreadsheets. He's really just happy to be here, guys.
Dan
Officiant
Poet, confidant, mentor, and amazing friend. Dan is this and so much more to many people. He has been one of Billy's best friends almost since they met during their second semester of freshman year in college. Since Megan and Billy started dating, Dan has helped nurture their relationship while sharing in many of the best moments of their lives. He is and will continue to be a guide, cheerleader, personal bear hug giver, and a constant source of inspiration for Megan and Billy, and they are both so grateful and excited to have him marry them.
Stephen
Best Man
Lifestyle model, adventurer, and connoisseur of all the finer things. He once drove over 100 miles with Billy on the night before Easter to save the day. Always there to bring out the best in his friends, Stephen set into motion the events that would lead to Billy first meeting Megan -- AND their first date! He shares with Billy a fiery love for the Cubs, late night Pancheros, romantic movies, and each other. Stephen has been an incredible friend to both Billy and Megan and is looking forward to being a part of this new chapter in their incredible story.
Scott
Groomsman
Scott is Billy's oldest friend, and some wouldn’t be totally wrong to say de facto brother given all of the time they spent together growing up--from sports teams to movie nights and the countless hours playing pickup tackle football and messing up the village green. If he were in fact Billy's brother, he would certainly be the favorite Davies son (mama Davies can confirm) as there is no sweeter man on the planet.
Robb
Groomsman
Robb is Billy's favorite brother. He has a REALLY loud and adorable laugh, a smart mouth, and a big heart. He keeps Billy honest and has always been there to have his back. Like Billy, Robb loves baby animals, Ireland, and movie theatre popcorn (although not NEARLY as much as Billy does). Once, while on a lovely hike in the country, they got lost in a fog for three hours before stumbling into a pasture and being chased down a mountain by a bull. True story. Robb is looking forward to having a wonderful older sister in Megan and to celebrating this special day and all the ones to follow.
Justin
Groomsman
To begin to understand the wonder and joy Justin brings to Billy's life, listen to Vangelis's "Chariots of Fire". Go ahead! ... Billy has had the privilege of knowing Justin only since 2015 (about when Billy and Megan moved out to VA for school), but they've managed to pack a lifetime of incredible memories into just a few years. Among many other things, Justin and Billy have been running buddies, movie buddies, drinking buddies, opera buddies, and classmates at The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (see photo). If Megan and Billy were a bird, Justin and his wife Jessie (Matron of Honor) would be the wind, always there to pick them up and inspire them to be their best selves.
Jon
Groomsman
Jon is that person who if you ever ask, "hey, what've you been up to?!" you better get ready to be blown away! By the time Billy puts on his tie on April 27, Jon will likely have gotten nine holes of golf in, but not before jogging ten miles, catching up on some emails, and personally prepping all of the food and refreshments for the reception. Jon has big days, and all who are lucky enough to be his friend and enjoy his selfless, witty, and fun-loving character know that he will go all out to help others live life to the fullest and savor every moment. Jon is excited for this Big Day and looks forward to celebrating it with friends, new and old.
Jack
Usher
Jack is one of the few friends of Billy's from the great University of Iowa who also made the trip out East after college, living in D.C. working at the White House while Billy attended law school. While being the epitome of class, kindness, and integrity, Jack is also the one you can count on to tell you where IT is happening and how to get there. He's been a fearless leader on many grand adventures around the East coast for Billy and all lucky enough to make the trip out. He is a fierce supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes (as one should be...ON IOWA!!!) and is looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful people close to Megan and Billy at their wedding.
Nick
Usher
Billy's former roommate and current fellow wilderness explorer, Nick, along with his better half, Elisabeth, and their pup, Louie, have helped Megan and Billy explore all the forests, mountains, cities, nooks, and crannies of the Mid-Atlantic--and with more to come! Feats have ranged from scaling peaks to braving haunted city streets. Nick is always ready for an adventure, especially if that means reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Billy had the honor of being an usher for Nick and Elisabeth at their wedding, and Nick is incredibly happy to be a part of Megan and Billy's special day.
