Fun Fact: We stayed at the Evelyn for our first "trip" to NYC prior to living there! We came to see Frozen on Broadway for Abigail's birthday weekend in 2018. This hotel is within walking distance to the other wedding block hotels, but is closer to Madison Square Park. While we love the Evelyn, it is a true boutique hotel and the rooms are on the cozier side. Did you know that NYC has approximately 700 hotels in the city? There are many options outside of our wedding blocks! If securing your own reservation elsewhere, we recommend that you book on the west side of the city. The NYC marathon is taking place on the same day as our wedding. While the marathon does not run by our venue, there will be road closures throughout all 5 boroughs and increased traffic. Many road closures will impact traffic from the east side to the west side of the city that day. Our venue is located in Chelsea and the following neighborhoods are nearby: Chelsea, Greenwich Village, West Village, SoHo, NoHo, Flatiron, Union Square, Hells Kitchen, and Midtown/Times Square. We recommend being cautious when booking Airbnb rentals within NYC.
Flight
We recommend flying into LaGuardia (LGA) Airport, John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport or Newark (EWR). No rental cars are necessary. All airports are a 25-35 minute cab ride away from Manhattan depending upon traffic.
Train
We know many of our guests will be traveling from upstate NY or Boston areas. You can take Amtrak from either location directly into Penn Station, which is only a few blocks away from our wedding hotel(s). NJ Transit and the Long Island Rail Road will also take you directly into Penn Station from locations throughout NJ and Long Island. If traveling from Connecticut or parts of NY just north of the city, we recommend taking Metro-North Railroad intro Grand Central.
Rental Car
If driving, we recommend looking for parking at Spot Hero. They work with parking garages across the city to secure low rates.
