Our Story

Megan's Version

We first met while on a marketing committee for events at Fairfield University. I'm pretty sure we were on that committee for at least a year prior to ever really speaking, but became fast friends when Abigail started bringing cookies (snickerdoodle to be specific) to those afternoon meetings and coming to work happy hours. Time passed and Abigail took a job in NYC, and I too followed several months later with a new job in NYC. We fell in love through so many amazing city dates that have become our annual traditions. From our dates in Little Italy during the Feast of San Genaro, to Levain cookies, picnics in Central Park, drinks at the Dive Bar, fried chicken sandwiches at Jacob's Pickles, eating delicioso coco summer slushies on the side walk, bottles of wine at Eataly, and walks along the high line in Chelsea -- I feel as if we have been so lucky in life and love to explore every inch of this city together. It is only fitting we will be getting married here!

Our Story

Abigail's Version

Before we were officially dating, I remember having a good laugh during our committee meeting about me having to dress up as Lucas the Stag (Fairfield's mascot) and forgetting my dress shoes at home. Megan complimented how well my running shoes matched my dress pants, and right there, I knew she was special. We've had countless laughs since then over beer flights, card games on the picnic blanket, walks on the beach and in the car (while I drive and Megan picks the music and reads Google maps out loud). We confirmed that we were soulmates during one date at a beer hall. While sampling a craft beer from the menu, we simultaneously took a sip from our tasting glasses, looked at each other and in synchrony said, "Christmas in a Glass, wow!". We couldn't help but crack up laughing and ordered two pints so the bartender would leave us to enjoy the moment together. Life's little moments are better spent with the two of us together.
