Short answer no, because of the events' rural location the closest hotel accommodations are around 45 minutes away. We are currently trying to acquire a few Airbnbs/Vrbos in the immediate/surrounding areas for some of our guests. Many of these accommodations will have bunk-style sleeping arrangements to maximize space.
We love the families you all are creating, but we cannot host any children at our wedding. Our chosen location brings about its own set of accommodation challenges and this is part of the reason why we are asking to have a child-free wedding. We also fully understand if this hinders your ability to attend.
As stated in the previous FAQ due to space restrictions and accommodations only names addressed on your formal invitations will be allowed in attendance.
This one is for my ladies whose male partners may not be great at informing them of plans and expectations. Drew and I will be wearing a tux and gown, it is up to all of you how dressed up you want to get. Just be aware the weather in the Adirondacks can be unpredictable. As a chronic overpacker, I'd suggest having a backup outfit, shawl, or cardigan to combat weather-related changes. For the after-party down by the lake you will be required to walk down a steep brick staircase, if you're uncomfortable going barefoot plan accordingly. Also, feel free to reach out to me (Beth) I'd be more than happy to answer any outfit-related questions.
There will be no catering service for the wedding. We have volunteers who have graciously offered to help cook a few items, which we greatly appreciate. The reception meal will be buffet style offering a selection of meats (steak/chicken/pork) from a local meat market located in Croghan, NY, salt potatoes (a regional dish of Syracuse, NY), and a small selection of homemade summer salads.
As we are doing much of the food preparation, please let Drew or Beth know or note your preferences via your formal RSVP. We will try our best to accommodate everyone.
Any new information or changes will be posted to this wedding website.
