This place is very special for many reasons but if you want to have the best cut dry aged delmonico, Ny strip, filet mignon, ribeye, you should treat yourself to a fancy dinner with reservations ahead of time. Or if you’re looking for a more casual experience check them out during their lunch hours and watch the sailboats come in and out of the wharf as they take passengers on harbor cruises.
Great place for shops and more restaurants and bars to check out!
If you never heard of the Grand Marnier Club, step in for an Oh No Mimosa, cheap raw bar deals on Tuesdays, late night menu, and a great spot for nursing a hangover for brunch the next morning. Several floors, each with a different vibe, which changes the longer the day gets.
Whether you’re ordering some Summer Sushi in the Candy Store, or a Snowball in Hell while enjoying the history of this city on the walls, or dancing late night in the Boom Boom Room… there’s really something for everyone at the CCH.
Go online and look at the map. Or even YouTube to get a good idea of this beautiful walk. It’s 3.5 miles from one end to the other. Don’t feel like you have to do it all, as there are parts of the path that can get tricky, but never impossible. My recommendation is to go early in the morning before it gets too crowded. And find a local to ask for the best place to start and park!
The Coffee Grinder remains a perfect place to start your day, or after a long day of sightseeing for your afternoon coffee, tea, or our famous frozen drinks. Relax at our outdoor patio and take in the sights. Or stop by for espresso and a sweet after a night on the town. Authentic Italian espresso drinks are prepared here the proper way. Also served are a variety of light food items, including fresh bagels, muffins and pastries.
A former US Army Post established 7/4/1799, named for President John Adams, who was President at the time and its first commander was Captain John Henry who was later instrumental in starting the War of 1812. Today there are tours held but most notably where the Newport Jazz and Newport Folk Festivals are held each summer.
